I'm currently setting up a contract to make flatbed runs from AK to MN (around 15/year) and looking for brokers who regularly look for trucks to move freight to Alaska.

    Any info?

    Thanks,
    KaMoAK

ur best bet would be calling some of the companies up alaska way like sourdough(sp) red pete's and kwhoppers and carlisle those are the only 2 i know of that are pretty big. if they dont do o/o they might be able to help u find someone who does brokers are tough and might try to get u to go other places or whatever

Call Landstar, we have quite a few loads going to AK. Most come out of Texas but it would be easy to set-up a load TO texas from the north. I'm sure they would be very helpful in setting you up with the agents who have the runs. I know one guy is booking loads from the Houston area to Prudhoe Bay for a good chunk of change.

At only 15 per year, why not find a few owner operators and deal with them directly?

Ahh, I see, said the blind man. I understand now. I like going to Alaska, so I keep an eye out for loads with ITS, 3SixtyExpress, ATS, Mercer, Landstar and a few more. I have not found any consistent loads to Alaska. They pop up at irregular intervals. I have not tried to find any direct freight going to Alaska.

If you are talking about loads to Alaska, I would ask for much more than $2.00 per mile. You have additional cost and risk.
