    Ok, here's one.

I found a low clearance today that the 710 didn't know about. Marked as 13'4". I squeezed under it, but only after I got my wire brush and cleaned the rust and loose paint off the bottom of the bridge beams. Rees, MO where the railroad crosses 104. Link to map:

    Mark,
After playing with this some more, I found the solution to having the 720 see the iphone hotspot right away without having to keep hitting refresh wifi a million times. It seems that it might be something on the iphone itself, because if you go to settings on the iphone and open the personal hotspot page and leave that open before you enable the wifi on the 720, it will see the iphone hotspot immediately. Try it on your end and see if you can confirm this. It seems that once it connects, it will stay connected for as long as you leave the gps on. When you cycle the gps off and on, you will have to once again open the hotspot page on the iphone before you enable the wifi on the 720.

Additionally, on a separate issue, I am having a problem with the traffic sensor. In my application, the gps is constantly powered, so I manually turn the gps off with the power button. When I turn the gps back on, it will not see the traffic sensor until I manually unplug the gps power cord and then reconnect it. Then it will see the traffic sensor. It seems to do this every time. Also, it appears that the traffic sensor will show disconnected in the preferences setting if I leave the unit on for a long trip. I will then have to pull the power cord and plug it back in for it to start scanning for a traffic signal. Is this a known issue, or do you think that I have a faulty traffic sensor?

I see the same here on the I-phone 5, although my Charge does not do the same.

The traffice receiver was found to basically go to "sleep" afte a period of searching on the 720. If you unplug the traffic receiver from the power source and then plug it back it then it will "awake". Rand is aware of this and is currently working on a solution.

    Thanks for the I-Phone info.

    510/710 only.

If you got an earlier model and do have LTM's, E-Mail me your proof of purchase along with your serial number off the back of the TND. Include any personal information such as name.

    Thanks,
    Mark

My 710 sometimes goes into a mode where it shows only the map. Routing goes away, all the icons, everything. It still tracks position on the map, but won't do anything else. The only way to get out of this mode is power cycle it.

This happens when I go significantly off-route (I have it set to manual recalc), and I don't recalculate immediately. Is this a known issue?

So, if I have the 500, but no lifetime maps, I am SOL?
