From what I hear from a lot of Walmart drivers, I'm too young. I'm 36 with 11 years out here. That sounded crazy to me, but every single driver I talked to says the same thing.

10 years ago a good friend of mine was called to interview at 36 years old. He had only had one employer in 15 years of driving. It never hurts to try, they may just call you.

Not true. Give it a shot and don't give up. Banker: Longevity in a job is a plus on your application. Drivers that change jobs all the time are not looked at favorably.

Not that I know much about the trucking industry... however, I do work at Walmart (hence the screen name--unloader) and I see plenty of young looking guys in the dock doing drops for our general merch trucks out of Grantsville, UT. Most of our frozen dairy is dropped by Swift in our area. I remember one driver came in while we were unloading a GM truck and he didn't appear to be much older than me (26). I've heard only great things about Walmart's fleet company, so I'd encourage you to drop them a line and see what's up.

I have a cousin her husband drives for Walmart. On his two million mile award Walmart gave him a new car. He told me if you get 4 million miles safe driving that they will buy the driver a house and land. He told me only 4 drivers got to that level.

I think thats two completely different fleets. Swift and other megas can pull wall mart trailers many noobs with those guys. But the Wall Mart fleet is veterans in strictly owned and operated equipment by the store. Someone correct me if am wrong. But if you refer to the local wall mart trucks then yea. I refer to the Line haul fleet. Thats where the money is at.
