    well friends,

I'm sitting out-of-service now because I had a BOL which times did not match my logbooks. guess i should have checked the BOL more closely, turns out it shipped a day early. Like i said, I didn't look that closely, only clue was the shipper said ,"this wasn't supposed to be here til tomorrow." Well that happens all the time. Seems like every few loads they tell me, you weren't supposed to be here til tomorrow, or you were supposed to be here yesterday. What do ya do ? Show them the ratesheet the broker sent you with their appointment times ? who knows..

What I will tell you about EOBR's is I have worked for some companies that switched to EOBR and generally the company drivers were against them, until they tried them... The majority of drivers actually prefer EOBR's when they use them and I'm sure Landstar will be the same. It's kind of nice to tell your dispatcher 10 hours there, I only got 8. end of discussion.

Now, back to my story, if I was on e-logs, I would not have gotten this ticket and would not be out of service. Sure I'll contest it, and either the state's attorney will recognize it and give me a deal or I'll come down here and prove it and the judge will rule in my favor. but it's a big hassle. I'm just glad I have extra time on this run so I don't have to worry about being late on top of all this NM ########.

The BOL had the wrong dates on it, it shipped a day early. So my logs say picked up on the 23rd, delivered on the 24th, which is what I did. The bills say picked up the 24th, delivered the 25th. bingo, falsifying logs.

You can have consignee date them, just no time on them is best.

DOT asked me once about why my logs didnt match the date on the bills

i told him honestly, "sir, i have no idea why they tpyed what they typed" he accepted that and left me alone

many many times, dates and times are not accurate on BOLs, thats not my responsibility nor job to monitor

Wrong, it is your job and your job depends on it.
