I agree with you on the school not letting the student use their trk to retake the test. Most schools guarantee your CDL.

Gotta disagree with that. A school would be a insane to guarantee the CDL.. Some people cannot do this. We had one dude show up from Chicago with a CDL and he never made it off out the training range. I guess when Illinois was SELLING people CDLS that was a bit different though.

You definitely got scammed! Most CDL Mills guarantee you will pass! They usually give you the benefit of the doubt and let you test out a handful of times. I think the usually limit it to one test per day though.

You can't just take your test in a borrowed or rental either because most companies are going to want your transcripts from the school to see how you did.

Not really sure what to tell you other than get the law involved and hire a lawyer. That's a lot of money wasted to not be able to obtain your CDL.

Not saying you are wrong but are you sure your not mistaken? Maybe they will only let you take the test once a day? Have you talked to the owner or supervisor at your school? Is there a contract you signed that you can look over?

If you're paying that much money then they should guarantee you pass. Some ppl are not as advanced as others. My school it took this student 5 times at the DMV before he finally aced it.Guess it just depends how reputable the school is too.I went to a 10 week course at a college to obtain my CDL with one on one training for the ppl that needed more help then others.

This seems harsh towards the tester. I am sure this was not his first day on the job and there was a reason for stopping the truck. He is testing SAFETY along with driving skills. If the driver testing gets in an un-safe situation then he should have stopped the truck. I drive with enough bad drivers that got passed when they should not have. I am glad the tested failed this test and is giving the driver time to become better before getting his CDL.

I feel for the driver and his problem with the school not getting him a truck to re test. Their job was to train the driver, that is what he paid for. If he needs extra training they should give that to him and a truck to use for the test. We all make mistakes and should be given a chance to change out habits to be safer drivers.

op...i in no way meant to be harsh toward you. i reread my posts and it can certainly be interpreted that way. i think your school hosed you big time. while no one can guarantee a cdl, most all schools allow for retesting. any reputable school should. your school is crooked, plain and simple.

i dont know what your options are at this point. if you have the resources to pay for renting a truck, thats a possibility i suppose. company schools are a possibility, but dont listen to the post that suggested crst and cr england. AVOID THOSE COMPANIES AT ALL COSTS...THEY ARE CROOKS AS WELL. id say avoid swift too, their recently implemented policies forcing longer logged times for pretrips and being on duty at shippers and receivers means they are crooks too imo.

They guarantee whatever the contract says they agree too.. and since most people just shoot to the bottom where is says SIGN HERE_______________________ and grunt out their mark on the paper.. there is little if anyone going to touch this ti "fix it" as it legally cannot be fixed unless the school agrees to change the contract... GOOD LUCK!

Okay, just got off the phone with my truck driving school, finally worked something out. They said I have to wait one month before retesting.

    Jesus christ.

    One.

    Month.

This may not be the school, this may have been the infraction on the test and its out of the school and the examiner's hands. Certain violations you can go back and retest the NEXT day other infractions you have to wait longer. I remembered it being a week, but I also remembering taking ex-students out for remedial training well after a week.
