Thank you for your insightful post. TMC sucks because you say so?

They haven't sucked for the year plus that I have been there. Plus I'm making about $60K per year at this horrible company. I think I might just stick around for another year.

I'm baaack. Let me give you some useful information about this "new" TMC. I'll say, it's working out very nicely for me and a few of my friends that drive for TMC.

Apparently, in Sept. 500 drivers turned in their trucks. Well, as most of you know i went back about 3 weeks ago for another physical, and drug test, to be rehired... Me and another guy from the Detroit area split the rental car cost, and went out there together.

The interesting part, during our "orentation" of re-learning things that we already knew (Mostly killing time while we waited on our drug test results) The VP of Northeastern op's (Travis) came in and had a talk with us. Explained to us about some new "Roc" system that they're doing now, and the reason for it. Mainly, there had been 2 things causing these 500 some drivers to quit in september, the top two? Home Time, and Money.

This new system is intersesting. I was lucky enough to get a truck from Des Moines (thank god i diddn't have to go to Indy) and started running right off the bat. In my first two days i had already broke 3500 to the truck. This new fleet manager that i have is GREAT. I picked up a load at Olympic steel in bettendorf IA, heading down to MS. He agreed that the load sucked for a weekend run, but it was all he had availible. And if i would rather run that than sit in DSM over the weekend he would send it to me, sure what the hell. I picked that load up, got strapped and tarped and my phone rings, it was my fleet manager. Told me he had a guy that lived 5 minutes away from where i was delivering, and that he had a load going to Ogden Utah (Paid 3500 to the truck) that was due on tuesday. The tricky part was (I got lucky here) since he lived not far from where the load i had picked up was delivering, i got paid for 90-99% of that load... The load that he had given to me was also picked up about 50-75 miles from his home, so i got most of the pay for that.

I hauled ### over to Ogden, through the snow and ice (yes it was a nightmare going across wyoming on 80, but it was worth it!) I dropped my load off on Monday with fresh hours and a 34 hour restart, ready to roll. He sent called me with some load options, BOEING BABY. I ran some airplane parts up to redmond washington, it paid about 2100 to the truck on 700 some miles (Nice huh?) I dropped that load off, and picked up scissor lifts going to a few different places. Witchita KS, Tulsa OK, and lastly Waco TX (75 degrees!!!!) I dropped that load, and picked up a load that paid another 2k to the truck going 1500 miles up to PA, i dropped that off a night early, he had me pre-planned on a load. After i was empty i ran my bounce over to new salem PA to pick up chicken wire, and waited til the next morning. By the time i was strapped, and loaded i had my 10 hour break and rolled straight home. I grossed 1700 bucks, AND was home at 3:00 on Friday. Plus, the load is delivering an hour from me on wedsday... So i don't have to leave until wed morning.

He's taking #### good care of me so far, i hope they keep this up. I'm enjoying myself even more than i was the first time i drove for them... Hopefully they are starting to take driver retention more seriously now.

The bad news? The only truck they had availible for me when i was ready to leave the DSM terminal was an ugly football helmet 387 model.. It's nice and stuff, but it's just too much bigger than my 379, really catches the wind.. You can do jumping jacks in it, though... If you really felt the need. The good side is that it's got already 230,000 miles on it, so i'll likely be trading it in for one of those new 388's very soon.

Oh. And in the two weeks i was running, i tarped one load. Am i lucky, or what!? :)

I hope all of you have a great christmas!

I will say, man oh man I am so jealous of their equiptment, god it is really nice stuff and set up nice too. racks and all the goodies. I do envy, wish my company ( the other flat company, the old one lol) had stuff that nice, I am a neat freak too, hate keeping dunnage and tools on my catwalk.. looks like crap.. Unfortunately the package offered to me by them was worlds apart, had to go with the money, and bennies, but I will tell ya if You are atruck freak like me, it hurts to be in something You are not thrilled with,, jeese I think my first bike was called a columbia, funny how the world turns, to get out of my double framed ch 617 that I speced, and into this thing is a hard press, can t totally complain it is ok inside appointed ok, but just feels like a weak truck ,, You know, but it does get the job done,
    Happy Holidays
    Be Safe!!!

No not because I say so. If you looked at my other post you would know what I was talking about. A good friend of mine still drives for TMC and making around 75 this year. In my last post I said that just cause it didnt work for me doesnt mean it wouldnt work for the next driver. What I said, Good luck, i meant it. What it was going towards was the new drivers on hear just starting out. You hoopin bout 60K this years? Well congrats. I made more and have been home every night since I left TMC, yet im not on here bragging about it. Im gone till after Christmas. Hope everyone on here makes it home to their families. Merry Chrismas to you all.

I am regional, so that my weekends are gauranteed... But, my fleet manager knows that if he has something good to pickup on Friday, i will usually stay out over the weekend to make the extra cash.. So he'll run it by me most of the time.

    If not, i'll be home.

Who are you? Do we have to check with you before posting. Stay with TMC forever and be happy if you are making 60k. TMC sucks.

Absolutely not, this thread is to provide anyone thinking about TMC facts. Unsupported statements of "TMC sucks" does not do that. It weakens your arguement. Why don't you tell us why TMC sucks. If you feel it necessary to check with me before posting about TMC, please feel free to do so.

I have been trying to get paperwork completed and scheduled for TMC's orientation.
I havent driven for a few years (5) since I was an owner operator. They say I have to go on the road with a trainer after orientation. I'm looking forward to it actually just wish the process was quicker. I can not stand my current job (Plant Production Manager). I live by one of their driver trainers and met him, seems like a very profesional person, hopefully I get him as a trainer. I live in western Pa anyone else in the area tell me what their runs are like with TMC. TMC seems like a good company from the info and research I have done, as they all have their own quirks here and there. I personally like a well discplined organazation as I'm retired from the military also. Any good info anyone may have would be appreciated.
    Thanks

This thread is labeled as reporting bad and good companies. Bad companies suck. If you need reasons, read the overwhelming majority of posts here about how bad TMC is and while your at it reread my post and try to comprehend it this time. I said nothing about it being necessary to check with you. If you think TMC is great, say so and leave the majority alone. I don't need an argument for the JB Hunt of flatbeds. It is understood.
