car ended up just ahead on my right (from a short turny ramp that also had a short merge area) when we ended up side by side,

i was goin way faster tho,

i saw a signal and looked like the car was changin lanes:biggrin_2556:

not much i could do (moved over a foot), second later car smacked the right side of the cab starting at the front tire/rim, then spun into the rear trailer axles,

they were charged careless, if i had damage to the front prolly woulda been my fault

This type of dumb crap (on the part of the woman in the van) is on the increase.

There are times I do not move over. It's far easier for them to adjust then it is for me, especially if I were pulling multiple trailers. But in situations where I DO move, then need to get back over, I hit the signal and wait. Sooner or later, someone will let me in. But I don't wait to signal....if I know I'm needing back over, I hit it immediately. If it's really going to be close, such as I'm getting ready to exit....eff 'em. They can adjust to MY location.

ok, lets frorget the triples for a moment

if it is one car coming, i rarely move over

but if its row of cars, its stupid not to move over, if you have space

why dance with a bunch of cars if you dont have to?

Only additional thing I take into consideration is the spacing between multiple cars entering the highway. If they're tightly bunched, I'll move over if I can safely. I'm less likely to force the issue of moving left if the cars are further apart, such as coming from a controlled on-ramp.

I rarely move over to another lane to allow cars to merge. To safely enter the road is their problem, changing lanes in a big truck is just a manuever that is dangerous . Trucks on the get-on ramp I will usually move over for, IF the traffic is light.More often I will either speed up or slow down to accomodate them. CIRCUMSTANCES DICTATE PROCEDURE.
Anytime you switch lanes on a multi-lane road, your chances for having an accident are increased.

the only downside to the OP is if she did call LEO it would be his word (i didn't change lanes and run her off the road) and hers (he ran me off the road by changing lanes).... but the ppl in the cars behind him at the time wouldn't be there to tell the truth if he was stopped 10 ml down the road.....

thats why i have a dasc cam
