Still at the yard. They sent my truck to the KW dealer yesterday. It's due back this morning sometime. I will hopefully get out of here today.

So it's Stevens Transport that is smuggling drugs across the border ... not the Mexicans?
Anybody have any info on what happened here?

edit: I just realized this was from 2008 ... still curious though. -
One of the things we have seen in the last couple years is an increase effort to use unsuspecting trucks/drivers to move drugs across the border inspection places.
Wonder why Pilot (before that the J) are off limits to Stevens in Laredo?
A trick used is to fasten a package (several) to the bottom of the trailers. Usually back by the doors or under the tandems. They're usually wrapped in black plastic garbage bags and stuffed and taped between cross members.
After you've passed the border inspection, they remove them next time you stop.
Unfortunately, the dogs at the screen will catch it and the agents know to look for it.
It's imperative you inspect your truck carefully before rolling out of town. Look carefully at the underside of the trailer and even around the lower engine area where packages can be taped.
If you have a T-2000 or 660, illegals like to crawl up under the windscreen over your cab and hide.
If you get stopped with drugs, it's automatic loss of your CDL (for life), forfeiture of all your belongings in the truck (loss of the truck, trailer and freight to Stevens) and arrest.
It will cost you thousands of dollars to hire a lawyer, go to court and prove your innocence. Most of the time you will lose because you have inspected your truck/trailer by virtue of your pre trip on your log.TBT 5150, TRKRSHONEY and Corporal_Clegg Thank this. -
Is freight slow in California right now? I have been empty in Fresno for 29hrs now and still no word on a dispatch. When I call I am told they are working on it...
2500 miles in 4 days to get here and deliver, thought I was having a good week... this kind of killed that idea. -
Where you @ in Cali, I got a load out of there fairly quick. I also had a friend there the same time as me and he got dispatched on two different loads.
-
Sitting in Fresno... I only had 2hrs left on my 70 when I parked yesterday morning didn't figure I would get a load then, but I am ready and have hours today #### it.
