My ancestors didn't come over from one of the two FOUNDING countries to steal jobs from Canadians on a temporary foreign workers permit.

From 1763 until the Canadian Citizenship Act came into force on January 1, 1947, people born in Canada were all British subjects. Since immigrants born in Great Britain and the Commonwealth were already British subjects, they had no need to become naturalized or to obtain British citizenship in Canada.

 

Semantics. Where would this country, or North America for that matter, be without all of the post war immigrants? I agree with you on the TFW program, but what's wrong with someone wanting to immigrate to another country to make a better life for themselves?

 

The problem with your theory is IF you're used to living in a mud hut, then a sod hut is an improvement to you!

 

I have no problem with that, the problem I have is that there is NO DRIVER SHORTAGE in Canada so when we IMPORT truck drivers it doesn't allow the free markey system to take place and IF the alleged truck driver shortage were to take place then wages would increase without the influx of foreighn driers.
