    Holy shift batman! That's like a bird that is tired of his wings!

    If all you want is automatics will greatly limit your career advances. You'll eventually learn shifting where it's second nature.

    So...those pee-bottles on the side of the road would be considered "first nature"?:biggrin_25523:

    You want to quit a company because you're tired of shifting? You've got to be joking.

    Here's a brain drain for ya.

    If you were in L.A. and wanted to get to Phoenix. Whats the cheapest/fastest way to get there?

    Taxi cab = $500

    Limousine = $800

    Airplane = (last minute) $300

    Buy yourself 8' of an LTL Swift truck = $100

    Yep, SWIFT will haul that 200 pounds for less than Greyhound.

    I have a better suggestion for all who are tired of shifting. Get a local job driving a dump truck in town.

    For example. A round trip has 20 sets of lights and 4 stop signs. If your as unlucky as I am they always turn red on you. Figure I'm lucky enough to get through 8 lights when they're green. That's 12 reds + 4 stops signs = 16 full stops. 16 full stops x 12 gears (including splits) to get back up to speed. That's 192 shifts per round trip, not including any shifting where your not actually stopped (yeilds etc.). Now let's assume I make 12 trips for my day that's 2,304 shifts minimum.

    5 minutes to get loaded, 2 minutes max to get dumped, so not much of a break there. And you eat while your driving 99% of the time.

    Do that for a while and when you get back to a dry van you'll never complain about shifting again.
