It's not complicated. Your working day can only be 14 hours long. So if you go from Off Duty to On Duty at 7am, that means your day must end at 9pm. It doesn't matter if you have a few hours of Off Duty time during the day, your day still ends at 9pm.

You can still be on duty after 14 hrs, just not driving. Plus, IF you are on-duty after your 14 hrs started, you cannot drive again until you complete a 10 hour rest or reset with a 34 hr.

Unless you take an eight hour break, pausing your 14 where it was when the break started. Then you only need a two hour break to complete your ten! ;) but for the most part when you start your day, you have 14 hrs to finish it unless you get that ten hour break in...

And in the 14hrs you have only 11 hrs driving time. When the window of 14 hrs closes, to drive again you must have 10hrs off in the sleeper.

You must take a 30min break between the 1st hour and 8th hour of driving time.

to keep it simple, you cannot drive after your 14th hour on duty. You can still work, just can't drive.
