Well I get it, I had to get my experience. Had to earn my stripes. I'm not complaining about the pay, everyone has to start at the bottom.

I just don't understand why someone WITH experience would willingly pull a reefer, let alone for these training companies...as I said folks in my situation, ok. Folks with leverage to be able to do better is who I don't get.

If you're not getting detention pay while loading or unloading, you're with the wrong company. There are some good reefer outfits, research and find a good one. Maybe JBS Carriers, do they wait, like the outside carriers?

Well didn't go to Greeley. Went to Tolleson, Arizona instead. Load wasn't suppose to pick up until 2/2/1900. Got here at 2/1/13 23:30 and load is ready. Hooked and booked. But of course it was combos. Those are normally ready early. Will deliver in Denver. Then go up to Greeley but not for meat for pallets. Take them to Grand Island plant and maybe I'll pick up some meat from there. Oh ya the time on the paperwork says printed at 2/1/13 14:56. Guess they give Stevens and the other guys all the loads that will take all day. I will say I have had my share of 34hr restarts at plants, but not nearly as much as the common carriers who pick up for us. Anyway have a great weekend. God bless

So use that time to your advantage... unless of course your stuck at that pit that's known as the JBS plant in Cactus TX! If you're near civilization do something!

    Catch up on your sleep.

    Do some laundry.

Go bobtail to a restaurant, catch a movie.

Do a grub run to Walmart.

It doesn't mean you have to sit at the truckstop, picking the lint out of your bellybutton!

I picked up at Cactus and the load was ready when I got there... I was doing a split sleeper berth so I had to wait two hours to leave, but not waiting on them.

I doubt it , but it's all good you yank your tank( cause I've done that to ) and I drag my flat around. Either way I am glad I am not stuck waiting on a refer load for 24, 32, 38, ect... hours. Flatbedding may not be for every body but it works for me.

You just answered why he is sitting at the customer waiting to load and was not sitting at a truckstop waiting for a dispatch. I ran a reefer for several months and it wasn't bad except for the bull**** meat companies. I had enough and quit.
