simple answer, new texas law, that requires you to be a resident of texas, to get a CDL in texas, and the time period eliminates out of state students. Made stevens scramble to assoiciate with schools in other states.

 

If you are NOT cleared for dispatch, NO money to sit around the yard. And you are NOT cleared, so not available for dispatch.

 

VDPD, value driven professional driving... in other words what do you value? when making a decision. On time delivery for a human life?

 

Thanks for the info TLeaHeart I understand now, Got my permit & all other sectons but haz-mat tested out on at DPS this past week in hopes that I can get more hands on time when I am on the Hill.. TBT 5150

 

Got to Cali yesterday. Don't deliver till tomorrow. Prolly wont get loaded till Monday. Ugh, 2200 miles with a student sucks!

I am sitting at Whiskey Petes as I type this... just got out of Cali, only 1 pick... but 6 days to get to Cedar Falls. Have to time it though so I can get TV reception for Sunday... I guess I'll just mosey along to Cheyenne

 

Try 2200miles as a full team!! Our DM gets an earful when that happens!!

Currently sitting @ Florida's Natural in Lake Wales. Got load assignment yesterday afternoon to p/u @ 0700, didn't get to shipper til 1300, trailer had not been put in dock yet, 5 other Stevens trucks waiting. It is now 2030 and trailer was just now pulled to load. Another wasted day!!

 

Its a BS class that is a waste of a half day. Listen to Adrian be a jerk. Total waste of time.

 

I'm in conversion to Alliance, so this is conversion pay, NOT layover. Being cleared has nothing to do with it. They pay $150.00 for the first 4 days and $75.00 per day after that. I signed my Lease last Friday, so the $150.00 covers through Tuesday then I'll have another 5 days on the yard @ $75.00. That's $525.00 I think for mostly sitting around and going to the movies etc. I never heard back from my DM who was going to call me the minute he heard back from Adrian, so I'm stuck here at the yard til Monday. My wife will be here this afternoon and I most definitely want my week with no truck payment, so I'm not all that broke up about it, just bored at this point.
