90 days, 100 days, the 10 days can really be variable depending on how fast the hair grows. the people who did my hair test told me 100 days, but this also was something done for court and not pre-employment.

Here's a novel idea: Don't expect to get a job in trucking (or any other safety sensitive occupation) until you've been clean and sober for at least one year.

I fully support an individual's right to do as they please, up to and until your actions affect the rights (or safety) of others. Then we have an issue.

You'll learn in this forum that discussion or questions about drug tests often automatically qualifies the inquirer as a suspected drug user in some eyes. Often a callous and invalid assumption but that's the way some are. I've been accused of being a driver who smokes pot and defends drug users for my factual responses to those seeking information about drug tests. Try not to give a care what others think or say in this regard as it doesn't really matter. What matters is how you respond to them and conduct yourself in your professional daily life. Good luck to you.

Hell, i thought it was an honest question.. never had them ask for hair samples and heing a bald guy it made me question the logistics of obtaining the hair sample they asked for

I see it as an honest question.

I'd also tell them they can drug test me to DOT standards and that's it. And since a hair follicle test is not DOT approved, they don't get it.

Past that, it's intrusion of my privacy.

And I don't tolerate the mandatory drug testing as it is well.

I have been in the military all my life until I retired. Had my fair share of soldiers I had to counsel for drug use.

The only "war on drugs" as far as I am concerned is a figment of the governments imagination.

It's a control issue and I hate allowing the PTB any more control than they deserve.

Won't be the first time I tell a perspective employer I do not agree to their terms.

If they will do that to you BEFORE you work for them, what will they do after you go to work for them.
