There is my problem though. I dont have a CDL, so paying for school is the favorite option over going to the others for a year and a half for free training. Paying for school is not a problem, I will make it work for me in the end. Thanks for the reply notarps.

I know you don't. What I am saying is they are not requiring a $6000 accrededited school. Don't go belly up trying to get a CDL.:biggrin_25520:Your welcome, good luck!

I paid my own way I want to Arkansas state university at Newport it cost me about two grand total including room and board. I control my own destiny and am obligated to no one.I am also an Arkansas resident so that was in state tuition.Do your research it doesn't have to cost a fortune to get your CDL.:iroc:

Ill be a TN resident so Im sure Ill be able to find somethin in that neck of the woods for cheap. Two grand is a hell of alot better than six.

I am a newbie but did go to Maverick for orientation. I was hired and decided that I wanted to be home more than weekends . Seem that someone mentioned reimbursement but not sure . Ask recruiter, as a matter of fact ask them everything you can think of. Some of the things I was told on one conversation would change later. Also several things were different by the time I got hired . Not really big stuff, nothing to quit over . I think overall they are a good company. Funny thing I have a friend who went there because I talked him into it and he is in his own truck and has few complaints as of yet. One other thing ,I talked to several driver who had been there for years and most complained that they were not getting a lot of miles. They all said that freight was slower this year but I get the feeling that Trucking companies like to give more miles to the new drivers than the older ones to save money. This of coarse is my opinion. Like I said I am new to this but if you got any specific questions about their orientation I do know a bit about that.
