With 200 to up to 600 trucks per day heading to the port of Fourchon La. I have to wonder with the latest up date why from the Inter-coastal bridge to Golden Meadow it does not route you down the truck route ?

Not enough Garmin users have brought that to Garmin's attention most likely. No one can do anything until and when, an issue is brought to someone's attention. I am pretty good about that....I like to make my points as quickly and as strongly as possible. Seems to be the best way of bringing light onto the problem. However, pretty easy to shut out the lone voice in the wilderness.....not so much with a chorus.

Easy if you isolate yourselves like Garmin has done. This single thread is the only way I've seen to talk to them and they abandoned it pretty quickly. The only other option is to drive to their headquarters and loudly ask them WTF they are doing until the secretary throws you out with those in charge never hearing a word of it.

Funny that...... last time I was on the phone with them I was invited to show up and talk to them..... apparently there is some sort of walk in tech support at the HQ in Olathe. This will put me on a razor's edge but only one rep for one company is unique in putting up with all that goes on here at TTR- takes a lot of fortitude in my opinion. I wish reps from the other PND outfits would at least put in an appearence. I don't know why the Garmin rep that started this thread just vanished like he did but it was pretty clear he just wasn't prepared for the tidal wave that swamped him. We truckers can be oh so opinionated you know..... especially on stuff we spend money on.... so it takes a very stout soul to take it on. Having said that, Garmin in my opinion seems to be listening..... course that just might be wishful thinking but my last phone in with tech support lasted well over an hour and a half and resulted in a lot questions being answered and issues addressed. Course whether or not we see anything I brought up appearing in the next updates down the road is imponderable.

Course you realise right that if any of these outfits invited a thousand truckers in and asked for thier input, they'd get exactly that- a thousand opinions and not one the same as the other.

I know his type. The go getter that's out to prove himself, starts some good things, but gets discouraged and quits after a short time. I've seen it again and again. 90% sure that's what happened with this guy.

As for the open invitation to Olathe, well, I just live down the road. Guess I'll have to take them up on that. You don't suppose they have truck parking?

Yup, they do. Their offices are attached to a big warehouse with plenty of room to park.

The New Garmin dezl 760 does have a 7inch screen. I am thinking about buying it, it's very pricey @ $399.99

Yes. Same mount works for both the 560 and 760. It's the small windshield mount sold at most truck stops..... comes in a green bubble pack. First chance I get, I'll the brand and model.... disremembered right off that information.
