    Looks like all 4 are. He should only x 2 and c hook the others. He should also get the chains and binders closer to the coil.

    CAXPT and volvodriver01 Thank this.

    Yeah, I don't care for the trip chain. Usually two horseshoes (C's) would do the same job, plus stop possible telescoping. If those are 6600 chains and tiedowns then that's only 37,200 WLL restraint (trip chain doesn't count as restraint). If there were two horseshoes then it would be 43,800 WLL restraint, much closer to 100% weight restraint, and a much better setup IMHO.........but it does pass DOT/FMCSA standards.
    :smt102 ::shrug::

    BTW the 4 crossed in the center I would have left, but brought closer , as Lantern points out.....but 100% WLL for 4 through the center is always a good thing.

    I would of did two C chains, two X chains and 4-5 straps. Also would of had the chains pretty much pull down on the sides of the coil and not have that amount of space. Pretty much the same exact way all of you would of did it. Our local drivers load these in chicago and only put two chains and 5 straps. I'm always having to add two extra chains.

    Can someone explain to me why you can x chains on a coil loaded shotgun and not suicide?
