Hey pokerhound, I appreciate the sentiment, but I removed your reference to that other forum. No offense. I've heard that they trash talk us a bit over there and they're welcome to do whatever they want, but I don't want our community to participate in that sort of thing. I think ultimately it just creates hard feelings between drivers, and trucking is already tough enough as it is.

I told my son about the problem. Of course, I do not understand his reply, but here it is.

Yep, in the ol' days we were all operator-owners, of servers.

Now it's more cost effective to let the server hosting company own the hardware because they keep it maintained. With virtual hosting, the hosting company spreads one server across multiple machines. (Costs per server have dropped from $400 to $100/mo in five years.)

We save further by using a third-party for external backups - CrashPlan.com. For personal backups, they also provide a free backup plan if you have two computers. Files are backed up between the two machines.

I check three web sites often. This is the first one I check and the only one I can get to on my "smart" phone. I really missed it!

    THANKS Mastertech!

as with anything electronic......a failure will happen sooner or later. the difference in a bad failure and a headache are the steps taken prior to any problem that might happen.
