Thanks for the input. I am going to check that this week. Going out of town for a few days,so not sure when I will get to where I keep the truck. I called Eaton technical line and he seems to think it is a RPM issue also. I am going to spray some cleaner on the throttle and see if that helps. The other morning I did work the throttle by hand and let it snap back to closed hard a few times and there seemed to be some improvement. But it was still just easier to stab the clutch once to get it out of gear and then just float it regularly into the next. And like I said the downshift floating is fine.I was playing around with it thursday and if you kind of worked the throttle back and forth it would come out of gear but that was just too time consuming so I went to the single clutch method. The eaton guy did say that since it shifted fine with the clutch that there was no transmission internal problems. So I am thinking either throttle or loose bolt alignment issue.

I've had what seems to be the same problem three times over the years. The first time was a throttle sensor, the last two times the problem was a sand/dirt/crud built up on the accelerator pivot. All I did was use air to blow out around the bottom of the accelerator where it pivots and lightly WD40 it. Hope this helps.

    Best regards

Well the tranny is back to shifting like butter now, actually better than ever since I have had the truck. I did a couple of things so I am not sure which but I am leaning toward one of them. I checked the throttle and it seemed fine but I sprayed degreaser on everything and let it soak in then worked the throttle open then let slam back. Seemed to be fine with lots of spring pressure. But it always seemed to be fine. Then I crawled under truck to check mounting bolts. When I was looking up inside the frame on the passenger side I saw a grease fitting for the clutch shaft I assume, that I do not think I have ever greased,. I always get the one on the throwout bearing and the clutch rod grease fitting on the drivers side which is easier to see. Anyway, I really did not think I had fixed the problem with anything I had done but decided to test drive it anyway. Man was it smooth. It would slide out of gear so easy without having to fight it.It was fun to drive again. I am thinking greasing the clutch shaft bushing may have gotten it out of a bind or something, Not sure which fixed it but I am thankful for all your help and thoughts Again thank you all very much.
