I don't normaly just throw rates out there of what I am getting, usually with a question like the op's I will give a range of what I would want to do the load. I love short little runs 200 miles or less, I did one last month, 66 miles, load in the morning, tarp it and drive, untarp it and unload it, four hours and fifteen minutes from begining to end, my share of the
pie, $731.88 or $11.08 per mile or $172.20 an hour. Now unfortunately stuff like this don't happen every day, but when it does hit the board I call on it and get the most I can.

Are you getting 100% or is the 600 before somebody elses cut.....at 100% I would take it as I wouldn't expect to reload that night anyway and you end up in a great area for van freight. IMO that's a decent piece of change for a day run given this time of year but I wouldn't do it for any less.

So then, for me that's a take it or leave it......depends how bad you need the money or your mood for the day I guess but it does put some fuel in the tank and get you to a good area but Indy isn't bad either so you can sit in either place I guess!! Can't call it cheap freight so I dunno, it's one of those borderline calls.

    Later!!

Really $3 a mile is cheap freight ? Another BS artist on hear what a surprise lol Ranger if you think $3 mile is cheap i know you have no idea of what you are talking about ... Evan at $2.60 a mile he gets is good . unless a guy has his own rights and accounts for van freight you won't get any better ....

I think the point is rate per mile is great, but revenue per day is too low.

Totally agree with you to a point on that.

I need to get $750 per day to cover up to 500 miles.

But since you are only doing 200 miles, that cuts out 300 miles of fuel/maint costs. Bringing it to $492. (my personal situation).

You and I have talked how I find my rates. This is one of those times. So you'd have a nice "profit" when I look at it from my way of finding rates.
