Need a serious Help plz

Yes, I know, but all companies say they require experience, but they sometimes bend their own rules as many new CDL students have posted on here when they landed jobs many told them they could not get. I worked for a hazmat/tanker company that required 3 yrs. tanker experience, but sometimes hired new CDL grads. All new drivers should put in applications anywhere they want to work, because you just never know what will happen.

2 or 3 years ago I talked to a K&B driver, I think at that chicken place in Monterey ,TN maybe Perdue, not sure, but he had only been driving a couple of months. The reason I was talking to him is I was considering applying at K&B at the time.

 

CRE told me no but Covenant and USX said yes. I'm now looking at Hirschbach.

 

Usxpress is a decent company for the bigger ones. I work for a smaller company owned by them. Never heard any complaints other than the usual moaning. The only drawback to me is I think they make you team for a while after training. You actually team with another trainee. I don't like people enough to spend that much time with someone in limited space. LOL.

Being turned down by CRE is probably a blessing in disguise. Scuttlebutt has always been mixed on covenant. They are right there with USXpress in Chattanooga. Mixed messages usually tell me its probably what you make of it.

grand I know you are looking for good advise. What trucking companies don't want the most is someone that will abandon property. How old are you? Cause from what you wrote I assume 21-22 if lucky. These companies see your age, your history of moving around, your mistakes. I am sorry to say like others have said here, you will be lucky to find a job in the trucking industry a few years.

 

true,companies do bend the rules.Judging by some of the locals at kb,im really surprised they have any exp.All I say is im surprised kb wants a yr.I don't know what the otr program at kb is like but I do talk to otr kb drivers and they all say they keep me running.I wont go otr with kb because they dont allow pets.

 

Your going to have a hard time, when companies can hire people like me who's driving record is spotless. I would consider a different job for a few years or until you can afford to clean up your record. Companies can't take the risk nowadays of having drivers with spotty records, not when plenty of clean applicants are out there.. Spend the next few years making sure you obey the law and get that record cleaned up. Your only bet might be a small fleet owner who takes pity on you and hires you anyway.

 

Doesn't sound like you're very responsible. With the responsiblities that come with trucking, this might not be a job where you'll be getting along well with any employer that does decide to hire you. (They'll expect you to work and arrive with the load on time) May I suggest another career to work in until you're past your early 20's.

Pretty funny how no one grows up wanting to be a trucker anymore. It's just those left with no other options

 

This is true, many of us don't want to accept this fact in the truck driving profession. We just need to make the best of it to put food on the table.
When it comes to irresponsible actions blamed on youthful indiscretion; I have no sympathy for it. We all have our crosses to bear, mine is heavy enough to worry about individuals who find excuses for everything.

there are even truck drivers out there with many yrs experience who cant go to alot of companies due to their MVR, its just not that you were young and immature and didnt know better like taking plates off your car when you moved as well as your age... its the fact of your MVR period... they will look at your age and etc, but MVR speaks louder than experience anyday of the week ... like i said a man with 20 yrs experience in trucking with 2 speeding tickets wouldnt get hired either... its all about the MVR ... and one more thing, right now as big don posted you have a chance in a few yrs to drive a truck if you cant get a lawyer to clean it all up for you .. so take this advise ... IF YOU WANT TO THINK ABOUT DRINKING A FEW BEERS AND DRIVE HOME .. DON'T DON'T DON'T .... YOU will be on the couch and not a truck for many years ... dui with alot of companies are 100% rejected ... plus, thats is just a stupid move on anyones part to drink and drive .... i hate the smell of alcohol and coffee ... hahahhaha.... yes i did say that, i hate the smell of coffee and i am a truck driver of almost 17 yrs.... how in the world did i function this long hahahahaa.............
