The ARG is a major component to the Smart Truck system, this will allow the air coming off the roof to be directed to the air flowing under the trailer. If you want to get the maximum fuel efficency you will need to install the ARG, this helps to reduce the drag behind the trailer as well, as a side benefit you will also notice that the rear doors stay cleaner longer as the air flow keeps it away from your doors.

Air lines rubbing is a violation if you haven't fixed it yet. I would attach a second-third spring to pull back on them. Looks good though.

I wonder how they hold up to humps and those that curb.

This is working great and we did install the ARG rain guard on the trailer. I made videos and took pictures as the guy we drive for bought some of the unit systems for his company trucks and we helped them install them. The instructions that come with it sucked, so we found some better ones on another site and that helped alot. The Undertray system seemed to add to my fuel mileage savings but we cannot be sure as of yet as I had new motor installed last august, had bullydog installed in the late fall and adjusting everything and now that winter is over it seems to improve anyway, so we are keeping track of the gains on every trip and will post in the near future. Love the system!

Are these home made skirts? I been thinking on making some for my trailer, since I don't want to pay 2k for mine from a dealer.

I already heard of at least 1 driver that took the tray off and put on skirts that had a better MPG improvement. Have yet to hear of any brake fires with skirts except the stories Smartway is spinning, but what do expect from sales men beating up the competition that has a cheaper and better performing product.

My opinion is the undertray is waste of time because the idea is to get the air deflected smoothly around the trailer tires just like the skirts and air dams work on the tractor. I quess Smartway thinks aero trucks need to be redesigned to let air hit the tires on the tractor steer and drives to cool them off and prevent fires......just does not make sense!

FYI: The driver I was referring to taking the undertray off goes by JW on Kevin Rutherford's website.

Don't you get better ground clearance with the tray? I've seen many a sloped dock that would rip the skirts right off a trailer.

I have trailer skirts on my Utility and they are made to bend. I have backed into some docks where they will bend right under but they always come back into place. The only problem I have with the skirts is in a crosswind if I am empty or have a very light load. They will throw you around a bit.
