I left Knight a couple weeks ago the right way and they're interested in me coming back. I made $41k net in 47 weeks with them. 119k paid miles. That would equate to $45k and 131k paid miles for a full year. I never could figure out the Gross with them taking 2cpm perdiem. 34-43cpm sliding scale before perdiem and 32-41cpm after the perdiem subtraction. I only know what was deposited in my bank account. I don't have anything taken out of my check. That included hitting all of their bonuses and pushing real hard. The pay scale at Crete is higher .39cpm for all miles but virtualy no bonuses. $45k take home down here is decent money. I'd go with Crete if the income was atleast a mild upgrade or if I didn't have to push so hard to make what I made. Crete's battery powered APU/AC system which gets poor reviews has to be better than no system at all. Seems like Crete's reputation has slipped down alot recently tho, making the choice not as clear as it would have been in times past.

I really didn't have any major problems with Knight. I'm just not a big fan of 400-500 mile Average trip lengths. Means you lose alot of time off your 14 at customers. With the trend towards Teams and the Railroad, seems like most of the once good companies are headed that way. Good for the Companies and Crappy for the drivers.

You can do what you want driver. But when a company puts "there a reason this driver wont leave his job to drive for you" on the side of a trailer theres obviously something wrong with your company. Because last time i knew crete was losing drivers rather quickly. Theyre just like every other stater company worthless as tits on a boar. But to each his on. I talked to a recruiter there once wasnt impressed. Qualcomm nuff said i dont wanna be harassed all the time. Ive already been called when i was on the ####### in a rest area once and asked if they wanted to help me wipe my ### dont wanna deal with that every time my truck stops and crete does do that crap

Crete seems to offer a better package than Knight, but it is still a lateral move. What do you expect? You are still going to live in a governed truck with all the electronic nannies, you are still not gonna be paid for your wasted time and you are still going to go home three days every three weeks (more or less).

Why don't you start looking for a regional/local position where you have a set schedule?

Certainly seems like an oddity if your experience is recent. I've got only 21 months of OTR and no trainer for me if I accept their offer. Qualcomms and E-logs are all I've known, so no biggie for me.

Local don't pay squat down here unless you have a durable enough body for Food Service(which I don't) or you live in a town with an LTL hub(which I don't). I have no desire to move or commute that far daily. I looked into Regional with Davis Express but they're pretty slow on getting me approved. Can't sit much longer.
