Sitting in Ozona Tx right now on my way to Pasadena Tx. I have run 2,863 miles on I-10 out to LA and back since Tuesday. Have about 18 hours left on my 70. They are having me live load a trailer Monday morning in Baytown going to Matthews NC delivering Wednesday so no time to reset. I should have about 10 hours to run on Monday but don't pick up any more until Tuesday at midnight. Its going to be tight. Any traffic delay in Baton Rouge, Atlanta or Charlotte and this load won't get there until Thursday.

To say the least. The bearing that holds the drive shaft up failed, got hot, and dropped it in the middle of I-10 at 65 mph. It was a lot of noise and confusion for a minute but I just let it coast to a stop on the shoulder. Sitting in the same hotel I was in last week for who knows how long.

 

I felt kind of guilty having a load out when you had been in Pasadena longer. If you want this one its sitting on the Sulphur yard. Delivers Wednesday in Matthews NC at 9:30.

Finally got my truck back this afternoon after 4 days of netflix overload at the hotel. Camping out at the terminal this evening. Saturday I will grab a load heading to Greenville SC delivering Monday. Heading home after that

Truck runs well. Our mechanic tells me this is the second one that dropped the drive shaft. The first one only had 21K on it. I ran pretty leisurely Sat and Sun. The plant took it a couple of hours early Monday so I made it home by 5PM.

Got my next dispatch this afternoon. Leaving Friday with a preloaded snot load heading to Carson City NV delivering Tuesday. I would like a little more home time but couldn't turn down 2600 miles and a chance to go someplace a little more interesting than normal. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.
