That's good advice when you're near a truck stop. Otherwise I keep mine on.

Personally, I listened to the cb as I would any comedy show on the radio, let's face it most of what is said on there is laughable. As for the fact that trucking isn't for sissies, i'd have to agree. It is a hard way of life for you and your family, but yes it can be enjoyable and it does take common sense, a good attitude and a sense of humor or you'd go nuts. I did it on and off for 14+ years as a single parent, and there will always be sacrifices we make, but it once it's in your blood you're stuck. It's hard to get out.

my gran pappy told me when I was a young boy ,sonny if the shoes dont fit you got to make em fit, just as we will have to perservere and find our own way in this vast new world of trucking ,but I have read on this forum a lot of reasons not to go with england. I think they try hard to sell you a truck , I imagine it would be like a six week long timeshare tour in there school and there trainers probaly where a 500 dollar tie

Hi Deeja. Just going to give you a short response to your question. Trucking, local or OTR, is not a job, it's a life style. If you aren't willing to completely in all aspects to totally change your life style, forget the trucking JOB. I did it for 30 years and retired just about 2 years ago. I do not miss it for 5 seconds. But good luck and best wishes to you.

Matters not. You have to remember we are playing to an audience, so to speak. So it is possible that someone may have found this and was thinking the same thing.

Besides, it's better to post to an existing thread than to start a new one.
