My EOBR was installed Wednesday and I called LCAPP. Then Thursday I called logs to notify them and they said they would send me an email when my user name and password would work. Still using paper logs now. At first I was annoyed that I had to go back to paper but now I am getting used to it.

Ok was just down there for a few days......OK so now that you are getting started let me warn you about the DUV group, tread lightly as they are known to issue phoney trip#s without having the freight yet just so they can have a truck on the ready.....then strangely when you call them about why it's taking so long to get a trip# then all of a sudden that load is no longer available but they will offer you something else, probably cheaper and somewhere you don't want to go......not saying they are crooks but they don't have the best rep. with many of us as being straight up front and it will depend who you deal with there too......LS won't care if they leave you hanging because they are a huge agency and make tons of money for LS.

My take for bookng freight is if the agent doesn't send you a freight bill in 30 minutes then move on unless it's a load you really want you might give them a courtesy call and give them another 15 minutes, otherwise move on because they won't hesitate to forget about you.

As you get to know various agents you will learn who you can trust and who is just trying to blow smoke up yuraxx......keep a notebook and start rating them as "a go to agent", "a just another typical agent", "a OK if I really have to agent" and ''a definite do not haul for agent".

Remember you are a professional and also a businessman so don't let anybody walk all over you or talk you into doing something you don't want so remain firm but cool and professional at all times.

    Good luck!!

I was looking at doing a local tomorrow for JMW. My net after fuel should be $300 for 4-5 hours of work. Just want to keep a little busy over the weekend.

What type of internet browser do you guys use for Landstar online. I am running Windows 7 with internet explorer and it keeps freezing up whenever I visit the LandstarOnline website. I downloaded google chrome but it still has some minor problems. Do you guys recommend anything else?

That's interesting that you say that about the DUV group, because I've hauled numerous loads for them, and they were all good loads that paid well. They've never failed to send me my load confirmations as agreed to. They do have some loads that don't pay well, as all the agents do, but they have good ones also. Are you sure you're not getting them confused with a different agency, say HEM?

No, definitely DUV, like I said it depends who you deal with, and I'm talking L.A. Otay and Calexico I can't tell you how many BCO's over the years have had this happen to them all on the D&H stuff......now I haven't done any D&H for years and I have done live loads for them with Misty and never had a problem.....maybe they finally got the word to clean up their act.....a couple years ago they were really bad.....IMO the problem was the freight was getting hung up at the border or customs and they still wanted to have trucks standing by so they would verbally issue generic freight bills that were never put in the system.....you might sit around for a day or two waiting for that freight, then when they knew you were getting mad they would offer you something else......if you did take the 2nd offer the freight bill# was completely different than the first one......this went on for years......sometimes it not a matter of if they will get you, just when!! If they would just tell you the truth upfront then you could decide if you wanted to wait or not........but it all has to be so mysterious........not a good way to build trust IMO.

I hope things have changed for the better with them, I really don't like to badmouth agents or their freight but I only have my and many others experiences to go by. I am willing to give most a second chance but if they screw me over a second time thats it.....guaranteed it won't happen again.

LOL, yea then we have the GW group.....omg talk about "do not haul".....don't know HEM, at least don't remember them.

Do yall know anything avout BCOs getting fired for (and I dpnt really understand this, but someone I used to work for a long time ago was going to ls and decided not to because she had heard ls was) pinging skybits on trailers and firing bcos, agents giving their loads to outside couriers, and some guy got fired for not making it to the lab n time cuz Atlanta traffic for a drug test (and he was out of legal hrs to drive) for a drug test and I guess it went n his record as drug test refusal.

At Landstar Meetings they ''encourage'' the agents to put the loads on outside carriers.Landstar is a very greedy outfit. This gives L/S much more money in there bottom line...

Agents can do pretty much anything they want and they will get a gold star and a vacation. If a BCO FARTS while on duty or scratches his balls while driving,he is terminated..I am thinking out loud. For every 1000 BCO's that leave or get terminated, only 1 Agent gets fired...

There is just not enough ''LAWS'' and ''REGULATIONS'' for these brokers and agents.I have been screaming this for years. We need more regulations and a CSA Score system set up for agents and brokers..:biggrin_2559:
