Hey Rob. I started with Superior last week. I'm on my last day of training. Delivering in south Alabama at 1400 then headed back to my home terminal in Morrow. Ready to be on my own next week. Wanted to say, Thanks, to you and Rubberducky for all your posts. Catch ya later.

Hope I can get a load out to Nevada sometime. My mom lives out there. It would be nice to see her :)

It would be hard to turn down that kind of run for sure!

Awesome. I guess you will go to Greer SC for the week long training next. It is a good training course. Robert and Jack keep it interesting. You will enjoy it. I will look for you around the terminal. I should be around some.

Headed out with my Carson City load around 9 AM Friday. Ran 592 and 650 miles Friday and Saturday before coming to a screeching halt today. I knew there were blizzard warnings in Western Nebraska but figured the front would move through overnight and that I could still get at least 500 miles in today.

Saturday as I came up I-29 out of Kansas City it started raining but was still 55F. I hit 2 to cut over to Lincoln just as the sun was going down. Temp was still in the low 50's. During the 40 miles between Lincoln and York Ne the temp dropped from 52-32F and it started sleeting. I just got a blizzard warning on my phone until 4PM so I plan to head out in the morning. I also heard on the CB that 80 is shut down about 20 miles west from a rolled over truck. We got a layer of ice before the snow started. Looks like this load may be a day late.

Ran a whopping 398 miles today before I-80 got shut down again. This time its between Cheyenne and Laramie. It was pretty icy for about 60 miles west of York Ne. The worst part of my day was getting out of the truck stop this morning. It didn't start moving until the staff blocked the entrance shutting down the fuel island. I didn't get in line until then and only had a 45 minute wait. Once I got 60 miles west the roads dried up and it warmed up into the 50's. Started snowing at the Wyoming line dropping to 31. I got my delivery rescheduled for Wednesday so I still have 2 days to run 980 miles. I will make 4.25 hours of weather delay today because that is what I had left to run for the day when I was forced to stop.

Headed out Tuesday morning at day break. It took over 3 hours to go 90 miles from Cheyenne to Laramie. Wyoming apparently does not believe in using salt on the roads for environmental reasons. The trucks carry sand which gives you traction buy doesn't melt the ice. The temps were 25-30F and the road was open at midnight. The salt we see back east will melt ice down to 19 or so. I headed out expecting to see wet roads and wound up in a back up of trucks stopped on a 6% uphill grade. Fortunately I was heavy but still lost traction on my drives several times getting going. Some of the lighter guys had to chain to make it up. The downhill side of that mountain was done at 10 mph.

Once I got to Sinclair it cleared and warmed up into the 50s. I didn't make it as far as I wanted but did get across Utah before running out of hours and shut down at the Pepper Mill Casino in Wendover. Pretty good spot with Free showers.

Headed out after 10 and enjoyed beautiful weather. Carson City unload took 3.75 hours due to having to use a 2 inch hose on snot. They are deadheading me to Pasadena TX so I can relax and smell the roses a little. I plan to run 95 through Nevada to Las Vegas, then pick up 93 to Kingman AZ tomorrow. I will get to see the Hoover Dam that way and avoid California.

Have it together at the kingman scale. The AZ dot hazmat guy hangs out there as well as on the 40 at the bottom of the hill before the loves exit. Hiway patrol is working hard on the 93 on the way to Phoenix. There is paving on 74 ( carefree hiway) on over to the 17. One lane and using a escort car. Could take up to 30 minutes. My wait times have only been 10 or 15 minutes. Welcome to the west coast driver!

Thanks. I am sitting at the Visitor Center in Boulder City eating lunch with a nice view of Lake Mead right now. Its been a nice drive so far. Saw some drone aircraft taking off and landing just north of Las Vegas. That was cool.

Rob and Rubberducky thanks for all the info. I been reading both of your posts. I just got finished week of training and heading to Greer SC next week. Was told that I will be let go on my own after Greer training. I am happy. Trainer was great but nothing like driving alone with music going and talking to ones self. I am looking foward to a long and good carrer here at Superior Carriers.
