I was going to get there, but I wanted the poster to prove my point with his answers.

 

Smart guy...............never been,never will be a company driver............only independent contractor,it pays to be local.Most of the delivery place,shipping/receving are closed after 4pm.That is the main reason I only made $90.000 in home and I spent less than 11 hr Mo-Fri that include comute into my parking lot or home.Just look arround and you will see very happy local drivers with nice trucks and nice income too.You will never find to many locals at huge truck stop,the main reason is...WORKING DAY IS TO SHORT.

 

I don't understand why you are posting in this tread. Do you work with land star?

 

Well we finished orientation, still not in system tho... Sux. Oh well, met some nice drivers with advice.

 

Is that $90k your gross revenue, or NET INCOME?

 

If that $90.000 will be my gross,I will be in capt. 7 shortly,just like at LAND CRAP(LS).
They use to post loads from Ma to Md for 69cents from that 35% will go to LS and that included fuel too.
Did I mention,fuel was about $5 gallon plus tolls?I call the crapy agent,and after I explain to him,that I have to put money from my pochet for that load to be move,he told me that I will make money from there to next destination.Well,first time in my life time,that I heard to work for free,plus I have to pay,to be able to work,ahahhahahha...........Yes Sir.........LAND STAR,the place to be free,if you pay for your freedom.I remeber that load was canned food.
I never have such a bad experience in my entire life( I came here from an ex comunist country,if you know what I meen) regarding working retribution,and when I see people so excited to get into so called false freedom(now electronic logs) I will passed any time,or NEVER EVER AGAIN after such a horrific experince.
If anybody need more example,please ask,planty more from where is comming from.

I finally found a shipper that will load a roller van. Heading to Tennessee now then trailer utilization said they will deadhead me to Chicago (to get rid of this roller van) once empty.

 

Well we left landstar orientation today to return to express1. We worked for a looser company last summer that wont do our employment verification (we have a court case against them for not psying us). We ate not going to sit around And wait so we are returning to our last company.
