Once to Chicago and you have a regular trailer, you should get some great money.Chicago is the best place to be for nice paying loads.Just be careful when you book a load.DO NOT put yourself in ''no man's land''.Do not be tempted by the ''big money'' flashing on the boards to send you in middle of knowhere.
Not sure where you want to go.If it were me i would be all over the $3.00 loads going back to NY.This is good for me because i live out here.If you want to go back out WEST,I would get a hop to Kansas City then grab a Fed Ex nice paying load out WEST from Edwardsville Ks.Unless of course you can find a big money load from Chicago to California....

Although i can be a Landstar Basher,i do well here..My ''freedom'' is untouchable as of now.I love working 4 days on and then taking 4-10 days off.I will never get that anywhere else. Most companies in NY are crack the whip trucking and want drivers to work 14 hours a day 5 days a week...NO THANKS,i have a life...
A good friend of mine left Landstar and took a local job with a daycab and union pay.He kicks himself everyday that he sold his truck. He has NO LIFE and works way to much. All he said he does is work and sleep.Nice life Ha.?..He drives one hour to work and one hour back, then he works 14 hours a day..He has 14 hours x 5 = 70 hours. Then add in drive time to and from work. This would be 2 hours a day x 5 = 10 more hours...So he works 80 hours in 5 days....He only makes 1,200 gross pay.NO THANKS...
This week i worked 30 hours in 3 days and grossed out at $4,500..After Landstar deductions and fuel i did close to 2,200 to the dinner table in 3 days.I am home again relaxing for 4 more days maybe 5 or 6...
I WORK SMARTER NOT HARDER.I feel bad for you guys that work 80 hours a week and have no FREEDOM and No Life..It must really suck being a slave to the company for 1,200 bucks....scottied67 and richhawn Thank this. -

I have a question about the pre-trip comdata card. I notice when I fuel it asks if I want a cash advance. Can I get cash off of it when I pump 50 gallons or more and do not exceed my available balance (fuel cost + cash amount)? I do not want to pay the atm fee or the hassle of drafting a comcheck.

scottied67 Thanks this.

Because that company was taking too long for employment verification, we are n a court case with them for not paying us, so who knows if they would have ever sent it...
