Hi.
Okay I messed up very big I got popped for a DUI. ( in a car)
I've been driving intermodal for 6 months before this happened at a small company but got my CDL disqualified because I did not take the breathalyzer.
My question is... is there any hope left for me?
A little background info on how I got started is my dad is a owner-operator leasing to Comtrak in Chicago. I see the money he is pulling in which is ridiculous. I was so excited I was driving and loving it, I loved every aspect of this job its so easy local. My plan was to get my one year experience and get into Comtrak which is not a possibility right now because I have a DUI on my record.
I also know J.B. Hunt is a good company to run for as an owner but i'm not too sure about their policy on DUI's for owners. My last employer great told me only the bottom of the bottom would even touch me now with a DUI is this true? How long would I have to wait to get with a good company?
Oh man this is so depressing everyday sucks now.

Problem solved !cheeseburger, mje and Marksteven Thank this. -
I think most want at least 5 years. Some want 10 years. Start looking at the bottom feeders websites. That will tell you how long you will have wait.
TRKRSHONEY, superpet39 and mje Thank this. -
The best thing to do is to get the best employment record for the next 10 years, (preferably at one company in a NON-driving occupation), clean up and maintain your MVR for the next 10 years, stay out of trouble with the law for the next 10 years, (actually indefinitely), POSITIVELY get off and stay off of all drugs and alcohol INDEFINITELY, and get into the best absolute physical condition possible over the next 10 years.
Once your 10 years are up, then start the process all over getting into trucking. By that time, all this will be behind you. The next 10 years will be a challenging "road" ahead of you. You can do it!
Good luck to you.
God bless you and your family! God bless the U.S.A.!Last edited: Mar 9, 2013
