ALL true but at this point we can only hope that hindsight is 20/20 with the OP ( which isn't always a given when you are in your mid 20's)

I agree with your first sentence but that's not what has taken place here by several. Judging him is NOT answering his simple questions. Yes, he -volunteered- the information that he drank, drove and got busted. He didn't ask for anyone's personal judgement or feelings as those are a given. He asked for a reply to a question about his career, not your judgement about his actions. Yes, you're correct about what COULD have been prevented and of course everyone, including him, knows and understands this.

    No not in the least.

The entire "point" of this thread was a driver asking if he has a chance at another driving job with a DUI on his record.

Tell me where the "point" of this thread was restricting a business from selling a legal product.

Correct me if i'm wrong please.

    mje Thanks this.

Thank you sir....It is , and I'm enjoying every single second of it....Deer hunting from Sept. to Jan. short break, then turkey hunting in April to May....then off to Nebraska to visit the wife's family for a few weeks then back here to NC to get ready for Sept again....Good luck man..you already have the hardest thing covered, and that is having the right attitude....the rest is easy to accomplish. Be safe!

I know this wasn't directed at me..... But because of how the OP came on here ("got popped for DUI,refused test") , and personal reasons...I wasn't concerned about helping him.............. But I DID help him (post #33 the real long post) because maybe.....just maybe.......he'll learn from this and can pass along his experience to another ####### that decides to make a bad choice.

If this is not the first time I accused you of this then it's not the first time you've passed judgement on someone without due or just cause. Yep, we're all free to give opinions but when a driver is already down and out due to his own actions and is asking a serious question about his livelihood the last thing he needs is more kicking from people who want to pass judgement on him for an action he already knows is wrong. He's looking for help and asking about his future, not his behavior that got him into this scenario in the first place. He knows he screwed up.

And like others said, his best course of action is to obtain a lawyer and/or simply wait it out and complete his required actions for a return to duty no matter how long it may take. I didn't add it to my posts because it was already said and done and there is no need for me to become redundant unlike some of those who feel the need to pass judgement.

Your last sentence says it all. It is your right NOT to help him but since that is what he asked for, why bother responding to his inquiry since that is what he's asking for?

Mine would never 'mess up' (DUI is not a mistake. It's a choice) because they would be terrified of what I would do to them. DUI = Butt kicking of a lifetime that they would never forget.

    *back on topic*

If you aren't responsible enough to follow basic traffic laws then you do not belong behind the wheel of a CMV. Good luck with your new career at McDonalds.
