My name is seth, im 21 years old, ive had my CDL permit since i was 18, im a very experienced driver, no accidents as of yesterday and im not a hothead behind the wheel
I drive a low pro International tow truck. Today i was sitting on a road (strobes on flashers also) writing an address down on a piece of paper, the yard i left is a dead end street so theres maby 1 or 2 cars a day traffic. After i got done writing i released the brake and put the truck in gear, i rolled back about a foot and felt a Bump right as i looked into my passenger side mirror. Only then did i see the Dodge charger police car, it had a brush gaurd on the front and my wheellift only pushed it back maby 2 inches. I recieved a ticket for improper backing (2 points), I have the money to pay the ticket but theres a problem. On the 20th Im going to take my CDL road test at the dmv, IDK if this will prevent me from getting my license. This my first offense what should i do?

Those shiney things hanging on your doors, you know mirrors. Maybe you should take a look in them. You hit it, pay it and move on, Im sure its on his dash cam.

I dont think you should waste the time and money getting a CDL. If you cant even back a tow truck without hitting something you'll never be able to back a big rig.

Hello Seth.
It wont stop you from getting your license. I'm not going to say that you shouldnt be driving, because its doubtful you will ever make that mistake again. So, do you already have your Class A driving gig lined up?mje and truckman29801 Thank this. -
i guess my question is why did the police car pull up that close rite behind the tow truck.
Tonythetruckerdude, truckman29801, EZX1100 and 5 others Thank this. -
I own a Freightliner, this is my first accident ever driving this truck, and i have to get my CDL because i cant afford to pay a rider anymore. and this was on a private road i might add, The truck only rolled back 1 foot, so i dont see how this is my fault, i have a sign on the cab protector that says keep back 50ft in visible sight. @ triple 6 , i appreciate your encouragement, ive had the fl70 for about a year, i spent my college money getting insurance and Ifta, i have my own authority and inspection stickers. Ive sacraficed too much to let this one thing cut me down. I have a take 3 4 car trailer, and a little contract hauling cars for a company out of atlanta. other than that i just need to get my license again (upgrade from a B to a class A) and be done with this BS
mje and starsonwindow Thank this.
