Sitting at Bosselmans in Grand Island waiting for my load to be ready. DLD is 0800 tomorrow.
-
so i leave this weekend to start on my journey just a question for you guys now what is the reason for newbs being sent home within the first 2 days anyone know i thought they verified everything before you came ive never been a victim of this but it does weigh on the brain a little
-
Failing the physical and/or drug test is the main reasons. Lying about your criminal history is another.
-
ok then i need not worry thats what i figured but most wont tell the truth about it i disclosed all my history on app all i have is 4 speeding tickets and i was arrested when i was 16 and case was dropped never been an issue before but they asked and i told so should be safe so they do at least run a prelimanary before you get there then?

Made a decision today. My lease is up in May and Im not re-signing another lease. Ive decided to buy a truck and go O/O .
-
Ultimately.that is the way to go, else you are just renting a truck. Good Luck!. I have a couple of friends who are O/ O's,; was talking to one yesterday. The sooner you get the truck paid off, the sooner you make bank.
Davy drives an 01 Freightliner XL.classic that has been paid off for about 4 years now. Keep it will in Fuel and maintained and the rest is profit.Corporal_Clegg Thanks this. -

Just an observation on my part. No scientific analysis or data to back it up, but..
It appears to me the O/Os that are leased to the company are doing best of all. Their runs tend to be better, the miles good and the complaints fewer.
My wife is out of town playing grandma, so I'm spending a couple days with my old friend that is an O/O leased to Stevens. He started out in Alliance and bought his truck about a year and a half ago. So I asked him.
His take is the planners feel confidence in handing (at least him) loads that really need to be there. One planner told him that he'd never had a driver responsible service failure from an O/O, so he always gives them good loads.
I'm spending this next couple days on the truck with him, getting some of that old 'truckin' blues' experience again.
Feels good to throw a few gears again.
Don't worry. I'll be back again to make havoc with your nights and weekends!KMac, Corporal_Clegg, Dryver and 2 others Thank this. -
Hello there all ya' Stevens drivers! It's been a while since I left Stevens and 'the road' for a regular job at home, December 2010 to be exact. After a little over a year with Stevens, 7 months of it with Alliance. Talked to an old buddy of mine that I went through Stevens School with, who is now an owner-op trainer, so I decided to look up the ol' aviary and see how things are rollin' (if they are 'rollin' at all). I gotta admit, I MISS being out on the road, as crazy as that seems. Many days stuck at the meat-patch waiting for DLD's, many days sittin' at the Ontario T/A waitin' to get the hell outta Cali again, many days screamin' at my quallcomm, and yet here I am wishing in a way I could be back out there. Hmmmm. If I ever end up single again, I'll be back out there.
Hope you all are stayin' safe and havin' some fun runnin' across this beautiful country that is the USA.
Question for TLeaHeart, where did ya' go?Corporal_Clegg Thanks this.
