I did a delivery in NY. And ended up with an extra pallet of electrics. Warehouse doesn't want it and the broker wants it back in California. What should I do?

Usually the shipper arranges shipment back. Usually an LTL. Broker should be doing the same. Unless it is OS&D and they say for you to dispose of, it still belongs to the shipper.

So what did you give them for a rate to take it back to them?

Broker told me to bring it back. How much should I be getting paid for this?

What rate did you get to haul it there?

At least the same going back.

    Just curious....

Were you allowed on the dock to count this load?

    SHC Thanks this.

Until the broker gets the bills with an OS&D comment of "1 extra pallet, left on truck".

if you keep it, your chances of getting paid for the load are pretty slim. You need to work with the broker to find a reasonable solution. Don't take it back until you get a rate confirmation to do so. I'd try to find a shipment going back to Cali that you can haul this pallet with, offer him a price that way. Alternatively, offer him a price to drop it off at the warehouse of his choice and he can arrange his own truck.
