Driving OTR with US Xpress

Sammycat, it stopped me cold in my tracks. That's why I walked up to the truck. When I saw it was empty I walked away looking over my shoulder waiting for the next attack from the "otherworld".

Creepy.

 

Hello There.


Here I sit.......watching TV.......new drivers coming and going.......yep......I'm at a terminal........again.


I was diverted to Tunnel Hill because of a oil leak around two fuel injectors. I had just picked up a load in Scottsboro, AL headed for Hillside, IL. I stopped at a small TS on Rte 72 in AL, heading to I 24 in TN and I noticed the oil leakage during a mid-trip inspection....................yep, a good habit to get into if you don't do those.


Because the extent of leakage was covering the injector pump, the break-down department diverted me here.


So I wait...........AAAARRRRRGGGGHH!!!



And in addition to losing that load to IL, I didn't get 2 trips scanned in because.............well..........let's just say I didn't get 'em scanned in. So my miles for this week will only be 1,789, instead of 2,918.


But the good news is I got the laundry done.............big woop.





So, if your in Tunnel Hill and have nothing to do, stop in and say hi.....................I'm the guy sittin' in front of the TV covered in cobwebs.





Knew I shouldn't have phoned that one in............

Contact the break-down department (use mac 21) about the ck engine light and metallic noise you hear, and they'll divert you to a terminal. Simply tell dispatch that B/D is sending you to a terminal for repairs. Get that BPM done while you're there.

Which office are you dispatched out of? Sounds like Shippenburg.

Did I mention that I'm still in Tunnel hill?


Yep........Let's see.....Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.........but they said I might make it into the shop today..........that's a good thing.


Here's my list of activities while waiting for service:

-Showered twice so far.

-Did laundry.

-Vacuumed the truck.......found my whisk broom and 32 cents.

-Watched 7 movies.

-Rolled all my pennies........$3.50 worth.

-Worked on my book.

-Watched Sprint Cup practice for the Bristol race.

-Sat out front watching the trucks come and go.

-Answered questions for student drivers like "Where do I go for my upgrade?"; "Where is the orientation office?"; "How do I get to the bus station?"

-Made coffee..........made coffee........made coffee.

-Drove the company van around.

-Made a pest of my self in the shop.

-Had pizza.

-Made more coffee.

-Fell asleep in front of the TV.......woke up with a stiff neck.

-Fed crackers to the birds.



Just call me Mr Active....



I gotta get out of here.
