No problem, 3/4" plate cut tightly & welded around/between the frame members is the way I would normally approach it. I once paid to have one installed & the owner of the welding shop complained more than once about my specs being overkill, but thats just fine with me! thanks

Yep, that should be fine. Trucks spec'd with rear hooks do have an extra plate bolted to the rear cross member and the frame rails.

What's a pintle hitch install cost. I'll need a 50 ton.
-
Just get a big enough trailer so that you can adjust the position of the back hoe so that you do not have an excessive amount of tongue weight.
-
I'll need an adjustable pintle hitch. Anybody with experience? Where to purchase these?

Probley a 40ton
Adjustable in height -
Every one I have worked with , the mount on the truck had a row of bolt holes to raise and lower it .
-
I've heard there needs to be an electrical and air brake hook-up installed also.
Is that the norm? -
Nothing electrical but an air pot yes. The air pot (plumbed into your service line) applies pressure to a plate (sort of) at the front of the pintle pushing it against the trailer ring to take the slap out of it when stopping (if that makes sense). I don't know if it's mandatory but it is nice to have. The truck that I have in the shop right now doesn't have the air pot yet but, if you like, I can take some pics and post to show how it's mounted. The truck in the picture I posted earlier will be in the shop in a few days. I you like, I can take pictures of the air pot set up from that one and post once I bring it in.
