$70000
$0.34 KM
$0.34 KM IS $0.22 A MILE
$70000/$0.22 =318000 miles...
PLEASE SHOW ME MY ERROR IN MY MATH, I R DUMB WITH NUMBERS -
I meant no disrespect, apologies if I offended you. I should have worded it differently.
Approximately 1.6 Km / Mile
$0.34 * 1.6 = $0.544 / Mile
The other numbers I posted are actual provable numbers.
Again, I did not mean to offend you in any way, just a feeble attempt at humor...
Hope you have a good day and I hope it's warmer where you are... It's -30 here again... -
There you go rzl!
Congratulations you have accomplished step one, recognition of the problem. all you have is four more steps and you're on your way to the five-step program. After rehab you can even get a membership to the conservative party!snafu Thanks this. -
rzl might get the 5 step program confused with the 12 step program, with his math anything is possible!lol

Saw some eastbound oilfield service vehicles in eastern Manitoba. Guess some guys are headed for PA.
And I don't mean Prince Albert. And I don't have any in a can. -
Hey everyone,
New to the forum and just skimmed through this thread and had some questions. I know breakup is going on right now till around June, but how is the outlook for jobs in the oilfield for class 3 drivers? Any companies you'd suggest applying to with a class 3 come May or June?
Also, what would be the best town to go through to try and get water truck/vac truck jobs?
Thanks, appreciate any help you guys can offer.Last edited: Mar 19, 2013

Here is some advice for all the Eastern truckers. I am Albertan born and bred. I have 20 pluss years in the patch, everything from spining chain on the rig floor to driving Vac and H2O truck to Project management.
Yes there is work here. Some Camp and some not.
HOWEVER.... (beter than "But..")
It isnt all sunshine and roses.
Long hard hours...Ive heard it before, I know you can run hard been on the road long time etc etc.
You are not just a driver. You have little support and MUST know how to keep equipment running.
You are expected to be an OPERATOR. Means way more than just driving.
If you are the kind of guy that HAS to have a drink after a hard day.....STAY HOME. Most if not all camps are DRY!!! ZERO TOLLERANCE Same if you cant pass a drug test. EVERYONE has maditory Pre Access testing
In my experience only about 10% of OTR drivers stay in the patch. Again, you are not just a driver. Most of the trucking involves operating ancillary equipment...blowers pickers pumps. Crappy conditions, 24/7 oncall lots of hurry up and waiting.
So....still wanna come out and make the big bucks....Do alot of research first.oilfield, Licensed to kill and Rocket1949 Thank this. -
I really would like to hear from this young fella and see how his plan worked out.
