It actually saves in wear and tear on the clutch, thus saving in maintenance. Double clutching is a way to synch the tranny with the motor, nothing more.
dbl clutching?

I learned to float years ago but here in CA you have to double clutch for DMV
-
-
Still learning but I revert back to the dbl a lot of the time.
-
I learned on an older early 90's KW with a 10 speed and it did not like it when you used the clutch lol.......she liked to be spun kinda high.....but when you did....going to the next gear was almost like butter (occasional tiny bit of grind)
IMO every truck is different.....but if he wants u to float......HEY!........you float! If he changes his mind and wants you to double clutch: you do.
no biggie -
If you learned to drive double clutching, which is what most schools teach, that is fine. After you have been driving awhile, you will begin to experiment with floating the gears. After you become proficient with floating the gears, you will never go back to double clutching. Your left leg will appreciate it!
superpet39, misterG and MJ1657 Thank this. -
so floating is a learned skill, how long does it take to get good and are there any tips to doing while hauling loads?

The only people that double clutch are crackerheads that dont know how to drive.
