    Hello,
I just finished a driving school and got my CDL Friday.. Right as I was leaving my instructor tells me to go down and talk to a man that runs a privately owned company. He said the man was straight forward and wouldn't feed me bull... I went down there and was able to talk to this guy and get a date to come in and do a driving test with him. He said he doesn't hire a lot of newbies, but if my instructor sent me then I might be a good pick... When I start my training I will be home every weekend and not stuck out there for weeks on end. My first year he said I would make anywhere from 35-40K. After a year I would make $800-$1200 weekly. I feel that I got pretty lucky and he has had guys driving for him for years and barely hires because he keeps them. ... Anyways, I'm excited and ready to start. I come from a family of truck drivers and it's in my blood.

With all due respect, 35-40k is kinda low. I made 58,000 my first year driving for TMC. Drivers that got home every week-end made over 50K. Also check that you are insured properly. Most insurance companies wont insure a driver with no experience. The companies that hire new drivers are big companies that can self insure.

35-40k is fine with me starting. I don't have any bills barely, vehicles are paid off, etc. They have blue cross blue shield. They pay 75% and I pay 25%...

Yea I know. Plus they are known for really taking care of their people and extremely nice. I've heard from multiple people good things about them. Plus he told me he wouldn't send me anywhere too crazy until I had been there a while. He said I don't want to set you up for failure since you are just learning
