Millis chat room

latest i have found is maybe 1-3 if that in trenton. up in dayton where i live it will be more like 6-8 or more. roads shouldnt be that bad since it was like 50 today. snow is supposed to hit late evening tomorrow.

 

Ok, have a question. Been watching a trucking show. They were talking about 2nd over, 4th direct, 6th direct when choosing gears. What does that mean?

 

Realized that I ticked 50,000 solo today.

In Four months 15 days I have tacked 50,600 miles on this truck for an average of 11,244 miles a month if I did my match correct. That's with 20 days at home during this time. I stay out 26 days go home four usually. I think that's pretty darn good for being a big fresh greenhorn rookie out here.

Most importantly I did this without any accidents.... the 50k is just a number for me one of many milestones in my young career. Millis has been great to me and i've been lucky to meet a lot of drivers that are awesome people as well. Mtownz,EMT,MOJO I've met from this board so far and went to school with jdimes. ( I apologize if i forgot anyone ) Looking forward to many more months, and many many more heavy beer loads!

they would be talking about an 18 speed transmission which is basically a 9 speed with an overdrive splitter to split each gear.

Millis uses 10 speeds, no splitting, just an upper and lower range

 

What trucking show?

 

how is millis whit they idle. do they have a optimized idle on there truck?

no on the opti idle bullcrap, or any other optifuel,routing or any of that junk. 50% of drive time or below in Dec,Jan,Feb,July and August. 40% roughly the rest of the year,plus bunk heaters. If you happen to go over here and there and not as a habit they don't say anything either. They don't want drivers frozen to death or heat stroked in the truck.

 

Also keep idle low will get a bonus each month.

 

Just realized that if you watch jaws backwards its about a huge shark that throws up so many people, that they need to open a beach.
