Yeah, got mine in early 83, got my General contractors lic in 1990.

 

Yup,there's a lot of displaced workers from that fiasco driving trucks,I'm one myself.
35 years in custom cabinetry,10 in sales and design doing upper end custom work and I can't earn a living in that game anymore.
Even if the market pics up wages are being kept down by imports and cheap immigrant labor,pretty much across the board home construction related work doesn't pay well anymore and it's a #### shame.

 

I like that story, Blue, I'm gonna store that one away for future reference.

i SOOO love getting to the pump and just selecting tractor fuel... no def (or not yet anyway, they keep telling me I wont have this truck for very long) and no more reefer fuel
This truck is a 2007 columbia, with over 890K miles on it, I've had it for like a month and a half, and have never had to put oil in it. I had a 2013 pete when I came on with May, with 30k miles on the odometer (sticker on the inside of the door said it was reset at like 60k) and I had to put at least a gallon of oil a week...
Over here sometimes I get a fuel stop listed with my dispatch, sometimes I dont. either way I just pull into a pilot/flying J when Im low and I fuel up, don't have to ask to keep their truck running. the first few times i did, cause well thats how I was trained ^.^ lol, my FM (DM) would just write me and say dude, just find a travel center and get some....

 

9 more driving hours as a May driver and I'm throwing in the towel. I surrender lol.

Carls Jr....maybe in 15 years or so I might get to work drive thru and have a 401k lol. I got something up my sleeve for real. but I don't wanna jinx it and have to eat crow twice. feel free to throw out the "I told ya so" anytime u want scooter lmao
