Well guys, I had been reading a lot of negative on this outfit for a month now. SOOOO I thought I would check it out this week. Wish I had something positve to say. Denver,Co; tough area on flats I know, low low rates, loads going to another black hole usually. Not TQLs fault ok I get that. See a load on the board to Tacoma,Wa, ok good for me goes right through the house and I have freight there. Call the kid up, same O same O, puts me on hold, comes back says Wow that Colorado line is really lighting up today, I what kind of product he has to load, what kind of time frame, then he tells me he has been getting them moved for x dollars, I say thats a bit low how about z which only another $100? he says ya I could probably do that, are you signed up with us? I say no , he says wow we are the second largest brokerage in the US and YOUR not signed up? Well give me your email and we can get that done and get you loaded today I will have the packet sent right out to you and call you right back. Ugh gee ok; that was thursday morning , friday I was under a load and have already dropped that up north and no email no call. Email sure has gotten slow these days right? I do not give companies second chances, 20yrs this biz as an O-O I don't need the hassles , got a list as long as my arm of good people to work with and direct customers, was an interesting experiment though. glad I didn't sit around waiting for the call, his loss not mine.

BTW, the other load came from a smaller kinda ma and pa deal, great folks good pay, understood trucking in general and treated me like a human being. I have another load out in the morning up here with another brokerage that is just as good as the other and the lady is a kick in
the pants to talk to on the phone like old friends, so really ended up with 2 more good contacts from one that , well , dropped the ball. Thats all I have to say about that.....Bumpy Thanks this. -
Calling TQL sneaky is a complete understatement. I just recovered a load for them when my dispatcher was tricked into taking a load to New York. TQL told the original driver with another company that it was not New York City freight and technicially it was not. The load went to Farmington, NY, which is on Long Island. When the original driver realized it, he abandoned the load. My dispatcher booked the load and when i punched the address in my GPS I realized where it was going. Completely unprofessional..
KB3MMX Thanks this. -
whats with this nonsense with TQL? is this how they became so large? by screwing drivers?

TQl is a reason for me to become member to this board. I had terrible experiences with them.
Their dispatches are rude so far I only came across one dispatcher who was actually nice all others were rude.
I stopped hauling for them months ago because of mileage issues. they tell you load picks up in A city than change it B and you have so many dead miles. no detention time etc.
We started haul for them again in slow months. We did 2 loads without any problems of course I tried to ignore the conversation with the dispatchers as much as I can. Final straw was we delivered a load on Tuesday and Friday I had a phone call saying we damaged the product and they will hold our invoices totaling 3 of them. I said if you have a problem with the load just make a claim with my insurance but no. It as been 4 months still no claim papers no payments . Finally this week I am going go to the court. -
TQL is big, but is it because they are thieves?
isnt it a wonder how Pilot became so big so fast?
congress is busy making nanny laws to restrict drivers from making an honest living, but turns a blind eye to the corporate rape of workersKB3MMX Thanks this. -
I worked at TQL. The place is a scam. You are taught to keep the highest margins and it is regular practice to cancel loads on carriers when your mentor broker tells you to and if you don't you are in trouble. We are taught to constantly post loads to wrong cities to generate calls. My mentor broker constantly told me to pick up the phone and tell the carrier he wasn't there because he was bailing on paying detention. If a trainee books a load for their assigned broker and then another carrier calls in for a cheaper rate, you better believe that they will telly you something happen on the load and its not a good load anymore. The only employee that taught me to be fair to carriers was zachary o. He told me to treat your carriers right and they will treat you right and that is how it should work. Other vets told me not to listen to him and that he doesnt know what hes talking about because his margins were not high enough no matter what. If you want a TQL load, ask for Zachary O and see what he has available, probably the only good guy who works there.
Raezzor, Mattflat362 and 6wheeler Thank this. -
That is why I specifically tell them, Im just a drivah, don't bother me call my dispatcher. Otherwise just be patient and wait for the appt date and time YOU specified. It will be there.
