how about this....how much hp canni get out of the c15 and still be under/slightly above 1650ft/lbs

Your right foot and brain will be in control of that. No one gonna tell you that you can run 2600tq threw a 1650 tq rated clutch.
If you wanna play you gotta pay or experience things first hand. Turn it up if you want, drive it how you do if you smoke the clutch or worse the youll know the weakest link in your drive terrain.
To work properly the truck must work as one and you must work with the truck as one. The unit is as strong as its weakest link. -
I get such a zen feeling from reading that... and I don't even know what the hell zen is.

HP= (torque*rpm)/5252
So if you make 1650@2100 rpm you get 660 HP. -
The only thing that is going to blow that transmission is the monkey on the stick! It will take far more than your engine is putting out.

So you using the above formula HP= (torque*rpm)/5252
if i rate it up to 525 and find out where the torque will hit 1650
then 525= (1650 * x)/5252
that means that at roughly 1670rpms i will be at 1650ft/lbs
and if the HP is set at 660hp
then 660= (1650 * x)/5252
then at 2100 you will be at 1650ft/lbs....great way to figure out HP/TQ.......
SO does that mean the increasing rpm will increase torque.....because then I could uprate to 660 cuz i never even come close to 2100rpms....right?? The highest I ever go is 1500 on the high side when getting onto freeway grossed out, but usually i am around the 12-13 range...

As far as hurting a transmission with too much torque, this is what I know from personal experience as well as the experience of the guys at Pittsburgh Power. IT'S THE WAY YOU DRIVE that will kill a transmission, no matter the horsepower ! Case and point, look at the Super Semi class on Lucas Oil Pro Pulling. They're making in excess of 2000 hp and TONS of torque, running that through a "normal" truck transmission and they live quite a while. Me, I've got a 650 hp code in my engine in front of a double overdrive 13 spd Fuller RTOO-14613 (old school trans with top .62 o/d ratio) with no problems. You'd just cuss at me taking off 'cause I drive like there's an egg under the throttle pedal. I don't go to wide open throttle at any time unless I'm moving 45 mph +. Once your weight is rolling good the extra horsepower doesn't stress a transmission nearly as much as on takeoff through about the first 5-6 gears. So I wouldn't worry about hurting your transmission with higher horsepower if you drive it easy on takeoff. Pittsburgh Power builds 800 hp engines with virtually no torque related transmission problems because the guys know what they have under the hood and they drive it as such like I said, easy on take off, get the weight rolling before you get on it.

what about when you're pulling hills? then do you still drive like eggs under the throttle....I guess it all depends where on the rpm band you hit your advised torque limit... -
