That would be a big change for me on the weight,I am used to grossing over 80,000,but I think I could get used to that kind of load real quick

I work for frito lay in one of their DC's and I can give you some more info on their drivers. First, the loads weight more then 4,500 lbs. I unload two of their drop deck e-vans a day and the loads way over 10,000 lbs and I have seen them over 13,000 depending on what is the the box fritos weight a lot more then lays and the boxes are much smaller the average 53 ft e-van has over 2400 cases on it 59ft trailers can have over 3000. Second Idk about the plant you are going to but most of the plants are going to the GES system which means you'll be delivering to stores with loads on carts and that are deadstacked, the drop and hook loads will go to the senior drivers. The trucks you'll be in will most likely be a single axle auto-shift volvo, and you will be hot seating the truck with other drivers. My DC only has drop and hook trailers delivered to it but if you have to go to a small DC called a Bin you'll have to unload the truck by yourself. The drivers I talk to say they make over 85k just doing drop and but the GES drivers don't make as much. If Im not mistaken the pay is 44.5 cents a mile 5 cents a case and 13.50 a stop but other locations may pay differently. You'll most likely be working six days a week, the drivers that come to us leave sunday morning get to us that night drop/hook go to a hotel, leave the next morning go back to the plant and repeat. One important thing to realize that frito uses 53, 57, and 59 ft trailers also they do double trailers out of a few of the plants. One driver told me that the GES drivers are worked to death and they are worked until they have no time left on their clocks idk how true that is just repeating what Ive been told. Like you say plant locations all seem to do things a little different with different pay scales,I do know that the pay is more at the location I am trying to get hired at, I should know something by this Fri. if they are going to hire me or not,or maybe call me for a drug test,right now I really don't know how they do the other things you mention,Thanks

No problem they aren't a bad company to work for you can't beat the benefits unless you get on with someone like wal-mart. They will keep you running and if you can make it through the first few years you'll be set I've met the number 2 driver from jonesboro and the number 41 from Perry and they both make 90k + a year. One thing I did forget is that you might be able to run potatoes to the plants and that'll keep you close to the plant and home at night or you might have to haul a lot to another plant and then go from that plant to another dc then head back to your home plant with a load of KD which is bails of cardboard. Well 4 weeks have come today and still not heard anything,now I am beginning to think I won't hear anything at all.

They do a pretty extensive background check when I was hired on it took awhile to hear back I suggest either going to the plant and checking on the application in person they seemed yo really like that when I did it because I was told that it helped me get the job since I showed up on person. If not just call in to check in on it.

I just went to an interview with Frito Lay yesterday. The pay is .51cpm .09 per case 10.50 per stop $75 layover and you get benefits starting on your first day you get hired. Also I was told by the bottom driver there he claimed he made 72k his first year and his only been there a year and a half. He also claims that this is a real physical job even though I say its only chips. But he might be right because even though its just chips when your talking about a 53,57, and or 59 ft trailer full of them then ur talking a lot of work! Yes management also said they are going to the new GS system in about 2 weeks they are finishing up the new plant to start the new delivery system. That driver I spoke with said you get 3 weeks your first year of vacation and your eligible to sale 1 week per year and you have to take the other 2. The downside is he says he works EVERY weekend and Every holiday except Christmas and turkey day. And believe it or not there is a slow season at Frito lay and its all seniority based. So there's a lot of good but also some bad. The equipment is 80% Volvo 2002's automatic and a couple rentals they have 53,57 and even 59 ft trailers. They said eventually all there trucks will be automatics and that if you do have a layover stay you will be compensated for the hotel you stay at. They do have half sleeper births but they do provide you with a card to stay at a hotel or you can get one of your choice and if you pay for it or they will reimburse you. They also cover $5 of your meals. The 401k is matched at 4% and I think that's about it. I don't know it seemed good to me the pay and benefits but that schedule man it just seems like you wont have a life to enjoy those benefits. I mean I know my wife will enjoy it but Ill be too busy to enjoy them. Don't know about it yet. They said they would call me if they where interested.

Yes they say they do extensive background checks but then again what trucking company doesnt I mean what good trucking job doesnt. The new GS delivery system will be in tact in 2 weeks. I dont know why its new. Seems to me that it should have been implemented a long time ago. Thats how I thought they delivered their product this whole time. Turns out they unloaded case by case.
