Giggles I'm a bit confused about the HOS and not falling under the oil field exemption. maybe I misunderstand what you said. I thought it wasn't the carrier but the equipment that mattered in order to use the exemption. Example that I was given by one company last week is they have a winch truck just setup for oil dereck moves and nothing else and the driver can use the exemption because of it. The other example I keep hearing is crude haulers having the 24 hour reset and logging off duty while waiting.

don't know what you mean he can't get the oil field exemption. I work for an "interstate carrier" that hauls crude oil in WY.
We get the one 16 hour day per 70 hours, and the 24 hour reset. Two loads a day, 230 barrels per load, 60 mile haul equals $320 per day, in 9 hours of work. We have peoplenet for the logs.

    Just an FYI

oh yeah.....heres a tip i have found useful.....washing hubbys coveralls after a day hauling crude, makes a mess in my washer.....

i started using the Mr Clean magic eraser...it cleans all the yuck out of my washer.....i wash his coveralls every day....(uniforms finally in lastnight).....so i just use that magic eraser before i wash a regular load of clothes....works great

thought i would throw that out there for anyone who might find it useful....
