Need work? South Texas Oilfield hiring like crazy!

In your Exp. the Student part would be the catch 22. In the north did you try Bakken Staffing while you were there and in south TX you could call Eagle ford staffing and see what they have to say> If you cant get work thru a Temp service then there is a problem> But thats always a good place to start and keep some income coming in while actualy working on sites and getting first hand info. In the North they have become very picky in the last year. And after doing a drop and hook the other night in Fargo and have frozen breaks on the trailer i was picking up plus other things frozen giving me grief at -16 Degrees with wind chill at -35 I know i dont want to work in ND in Winter. With no Exp I would keep my eye on TX if I were you.

 

Hey Benny, got a couple questions about the oilfields:

I have about 7 years of O.T.R. with no tanker experience yet. Mostly all reefer.

I have recently moved down here to Tx, where I'm not making much money outside of trucking . So I was thinking of getting back into driving truck, but I have also been out of a truck about 9 months.

1. Are there any of those companies that need water haulers?

2. What are the chances for consistent times-off for spending time with family and for personal reasons?

There are a lot of water hauling companies hiring at the moment in the Midland/Odessa area. The only problem is the expensive accommodations. With your level of exp. you should be good.

howcome or why would any driver be afraid of oil field driving what is the difference between that and regular driving? I am just asking because I really dont know im not being sarcastic?

 

When I was down in Texas, I was nearly run off the road, I had nearly missed getting hit a few times on my way out to a rig and it was worst in ND when I went there. It may sound bad but the roads are worst than that, my truck is sitting in the drive waiting for new shocks, I blew two out while driving in ND.

With OTR it seems you can sit back and relax a bit, oil field driving is like being on alert and bouncing around sometimes while other times it can just be ... fun off roading type driving.
