Well, I suppose the companies that I have applied at could have been reading TTR and decifered who I am now.
But please take solice knowing that I have yet to pass up anytying close to resembling a good deal for me in the long-term. Any companies that were 'the bomb' to work for chose me not. Those that want me are the ones that feed the driver to the plastic shredder. Story of the last decade of my life--I cannot get any job that is worth having.
You call it belly aching, I call it decision making.
Also, I believe the masses would be with me that being gypped out of duly earned monies or being sent erronuesly on boon-doggles would be something to belly ache about.
Obvioulsy you like being a pin cusion evidenced by your continued servantship to Knight.

Bottom feeders do not seem to require that someone be previously employed. Funny how this myth is rampant in this thread. The number one, numbre uno, #1 reason, even more than my lack of experiece, for companies not 'wanting' me, is, get ready for it....drum roll please......
......their insurance will not accept me.
So nice try to you and drivertech et al. about this 'needing a job to get a job' dung. -

If you had more experience....I'd say more power to you (staying unemployed until the perfect local job comes knocking at your door)...... But because you WOULDN'T (not couldn't) fulfill your obligation at the place YOU CHOSE to get your CDL ....is probably the same reason why folks won't hire you: you have the WRONG MENTALITY.
you fail to realize the time you're wasting when you could be getting the experience YOU NEED (to get the job you'd prefer)
how old are you? (Wondering if you're possibly facing age discrimination)
you have this "I WON'T DO THIS" and "WON'T DO THAT"..... And wonder why you are unemployed. Time to leave the nest for a lil while..... You can do it, you just seem like the type that needs to be forced to....and by the looks of it, being unemployed really isn't a strain on you like it would be for many of us.drvrtech77 and stuey Thank this. -

Fiddle,
you first started this post back in early February. It is now time to wake up and realize that in this industry experience is what employers want. This is not a job but a Career we have. Jobs are a dime a dozen for anybody
take up. Working in a warehouse is a job, working in a McDonalds is a job working in walmart is a job. All those jobs you can start out with no experience. Here in TRUCKING you need first to obtain a CDL in order to start your CAREER.
Then you need to go with a company that will get you the training you need. The first year is all about training. We all have run into different situations where we learn what to do and not to do in the first year. Why do you think we sometimes do not see the same shipper or receiver sometimes for weeks to months on end? To train us. My first year with Knight is coming to an end as of April 29th. I will have a total of 130,000+ miles under my wheels. After the first year we have the credentials to go anywhere we want with what companies are looking for. Heck alot of companies are now asking for 9 months and some are asking for 6 months over the road experience. They want to make sure you will be able to handle the equipment that they hand you. What other Careers hand you a piece of equipment worth over $100,000 and ask you to take loads worth more then that to and from here and there without the proper training?drozzer69, superpet39, Bigdubber and 1 other person Thank this.
