and like tenconamei said that the company had it against him. Controlling his routes. If he would've had records of this activity, he would've had a case. He probaly still has if he can gather these records of the carrier controling and choosing his routes. Ok time to go fishing!

My fellow container hauling pal, you were a Houdini. It is amazing an marvelous that you escaped what would have been a typical fate. I am glad it worked out for you. Maybe drop the OP your number so he can get on with your company. However, your 7-years experience worth of equity may have helped you some too.

I am just saying that I am seemingly assumed 'guilty' of wrecking a vehicle until I get a year's experience to prove my innocence otherwise by the insurance industry. This OP already HAS proved he is guilty of wrecking a vehicle. I hope all works out for the OP, but if it were me, I would be looking for another line of work. Frankly, I cannot wait for the day when I no longer have to hold a steering wheel for a living myself.

When I was team-hauling doubles and being trained by a crazed 20-something Cuban, I told him to go jump when he turned the keys over to me at 10:30 pm in 60 mph gusts and black ice covered roads. I was completely prepared to bus myself home from the Western Nebraska truck-stop than to risk wrecking a truck in those conditions. Of course he ranted, he raved, he cursed, and I was unmoved. I only have maybe 20 years of actuarial life left, and I want to live it.

Yea, Fiddle Sticks, that too that i had 7 years of clean safe driving. What save me in that accident is that one week earlier, i had gone to Rush Peterbuilt in tampa and a master mechanic was called in in his off day to erase the Progressive shifting mode set by McElroy truck lines. He erased the computer and apen that little cat-c13 like i never before experinced. When i finally saw the monster coming from the dark left side, all i could do was step on the gas in 3er gear and that cat engine gave me the push enough to avoid that train hitting me two fuel tanks. The sacry part was tha i was full of diesel and those raol cars were carring fertilizer. 24 rail cars surrounded by Fuel storage like Hess and Exxon. You know Diesel and Fertilizer is not a good combination. But some companies want to control youe every move. He should've bolted from that company. He fiddle sticks, dont let transam pete frustrate you, he was one of the drivers that critized me for calling myself Driver of the year after i was involved in a wreck. He goes off once in a while Jajajajajajaja

Ya, for sure...the lethal Timothy Mc Veigh recipe...

Ya, he, and the other 'old timers', when is the last time they filled out or called about getting a trucking job? I probably have more recent experience performing this task than they do. And they and other hecklers chide me for not wanting to get subjected to a mega-mill and here, case in point, the OP was at a mega-mill and whala, look what happened.

Stupidity, at its height, is to read TTR for six months and still sign-on at a bottom-feeder. It continues to baffle me that these 'experienced' truckers cannot see this.

i am curiuos, how long does it take a newbie to find a job if he/she doesnt go with a bottom feeder??? i am not sayin that they SHOULD go with one...i am just curious how long they have to hold out to find something else...

AND for the name callin...you can make you case and point without callin names....cant you??? if not, then i guess you must not have a valid point to make.....

    Pete....ya old geezer....i love ya man....LOL

In the Chicagoland area, as a middle-aged Caucasian male with 4 months experience with no real worth while places worked for including the place I am at now, the answer to your question for a worth while place/non-bottom feeder outfit to work at is '4 months--and counting'. Graduating school at the begging of the slow season such as I did is not a good timing accomplishment either.

I am studying today for the HazMat test in the 60 degree weather and 60 mph winds outside so that I can put the LTLs back in to play. Over the winter, they now want not only "T", like they always did, but now "H" and preferably "X" is required before you can even get them to look at an application from a new driver prospect.

Fiddle Sticks- That attitude is going to get you into a wreck sooner than anything else. Further, you say you have all of this experience with insurance companies from pre-trucking days, yet you whine and moan about how hard it is to find a company to run for with little to no experience. You KNEW how the system worked before you got in the saddle and you're still bringing up those complaints?

I found one almost fresh from CDL school. It was driving for a very small Eastern European company pulling reefers to California.

Why were you stuck on the RR crossing to begin with?

Keep my name out of your little childish rants. Also, change that attitude of yours if you want to remain a member on these boards. You will not last long here picking fights with everyone. Also, I don't give a darn if you worked with an insurance broker for 20ish years. You're a newbie, and don't have a clue. A rollover is not a career ender as you swore it is, and no one is perfect. You've been driving for less than a year. You have no grounds to call out veterans.
