I'm with Ls and didn't even know they had secret pages. Only one's I know of are the Corporate BCO page and OZR's page. But I'm always out of the loop too lol

I am doing a FedEx relay load for VAM out of Denver to Sacramento. VAM said that I will not have my own freight bill # since it is a relay load. Can I still get my pre-trip advance the way I normally do off the Landstar website? I noticed there is no freight bill # for my trip advance on the Landstar website. I see my next trip out of Sacramento already.

Dewey. You will ''get paid'' when the other driver trans flo's the bills. It could be a while depending on him/her.You will get paid though..I waited one month for a canadian to get his bills in.I called landstar to kick him in the butt...Also dewey.Do yourself a favor and get a copy of the bills and send them in yourself and hang on to them.I DID NOT do this. You better have proof.

You can get your advance too..Call VAM and get you freight bill # ASAP....

back in 2008 i did a dedicated lane for VAM out of Chicago area. Went from Elmhurst to S. Bend, IN every night (right past the house) and paid $750 for the round trip, and I was home every day and had 2 trailers dedicated to me. Lasted about 5 months till FEDEX decided to take the load back for their own drivers

How does detention/layover pay work? The agent said I had an appointment for this morning (Monday) but receiver said they can't off load me until Wednesday morning at 0800 (they said that's the appointment time). I already have a reload setup to leave Denver at 0500 Wednesday morning.

Did you call and confirm the appointment, with the consignee, when you picked up the load? Or did you just take the Agent's word? I would be on the phone to Customer Service, immediately, with all the details.

BTW, detention and layover are for when the customer cannot, or will not meet the original schedule. You get your normal percentages of the charges and you get paid for those only after the customer pays the charges to LS. I have had two different detention charges that took the better part of a year, to collect.

Well the agent fixed the problem. Long story short the receiver messed up. So the agent told them that they will need to pay detention but the receiver does not want to pay it. So the warehouse supervisor is off loading me now.
