Nothing like having the load to get reworked twice. Meat loads......

Really? I have never had to have a meat load reworked. Other than one load from a paper mill in Maine, the only reworks I have ever needed were on multi pick produce loads.

I have never picked up from Waterloo. I guess I have been lucky.

On another note, I hope this Cummings shop gets through with my truck today. Brought it here Monday morning after I emptied, two nights in the motel is enough for me. I am ready to get rolling #### it.

I scaled that load at 80910 and was only going to Mechanicsburg, so could not burn enough fuel to get legal. The relly fun part though, on my way back to the mill to get it cut... the Maine DOT set up some portable sclaes about a 1/2 mile from the mill. I just showed them the scale ticket and told them I was on my way to get it cut. They did a level three and sent me on my way.

I have pulled a few loads over 80k though. Most states give the APU exemption, but you have to he careful. Tennessee does not so I have went around those scales more than once.

Took a load over 80k from Laredo to Hershey. Had to stay at 3/8 tank or so to be under 80,400... did the 50 Gal shuffle and went around the Tennessee scales.

I wonder if birds have 9 lives like cats?

Is it possible for a bird to #### it's pants?

I was on I80 in PA heading west. A tri-axle was passing me on the left as we go under an over pass. A pigeon (I think) gets caught in the air stream between the two of us. I'm watching it in my mirror as it is tumbling down to the surface of the freeway. Feathers fly every where as it hits the ground but in tumbling around, the bird catches it's wings and flies away...

I think it used up all 8 of his lives just in that split second!

But I think what really saved him was the fact that the trailer I was pulling had side skirts. They are SO GOOD at reducing air turbulence, that the bird had smooth enough are to recover, saving the birds life.
